Elon Musk = Hank Reardon?

Your thoughts? This time it's not steel. It's freedom of speech. The steel equivalent, IMO, was Big Pharma and, for the most part, the Science Institute won that one. "When their fat little comforts are threatened you can be sure that science is the first thing men will abandon." That was about 15 years ago, starting with Simpsonwood and continuing on today. Watch how the establishment goes after Musk, now... Already similar, IMO.

The beautiful thing about Musk’s Twitter strategy is either way he wins. If the board accepts his offer (which they won’t) he gets a turn key social media company with huge market penetration.
When they reject his offer, it will become clear to everyone that the purpose of Twitter is not to make money for it’s shareholders. It’s actual purpose is to propagandize the electorate.
The cherry on top is that the other shareholders will most likely sue the board for rejecting an above market offer. Destroying what WE all know is a Deep State propaganda outlet from within.
The other possibility.....Schwab gives Musk a seat at the table.

Much like Trump did with media bias, Musk will drag the demons out into the light, where everyone with eyes can see.
Doesn’t mean it’s fixed. But, now we know.
And knowing is half the battle. (Couldn’t resist)

While I respect Musk going his own way, there are things he's doing which can't help make me wonder if he's not just a fresh face to implement the elitist plan from a different slant. I kinda feel the same way about Trump and a few of the actions he's taken, and the lack of actions taken following the last fraudulent election.

Musk: fully autonomous cars compete with auto shut-off switches (pending legislation?) and GPS built right in, further the potential ability to remotely auto control a vehicle. The rollout of a global satellite communications network. The vacuous doge-coin (digital currency) spikes he likes to prompt.

Rearden is an heroic character, but his flaw is that he thinks he can succeed despite a government openly attacking him.

Thanks, but wishing but won't make it so, regarding my efforts.

As for Elon Musk, he has success at multiple companies already, granted with some government help. Now that he doesn't need the government help, it appears that he has weaned himself off of such help, and I am sure that the taxes that he has paid or will pay will way more than offset what amounts now to a government loan.

I have always thought of Reardon as the most heroic character in AS, not JG.
Any comparison of EM to HR is premature. EM has a lot to prove given his past,
just as Trump did before he was elected.
Unlike HR, EM has not succeeded on his own and has taken loot at every opportunity.
I'd love to see EM as a hero of individual liberty, but so far its just hopium, imo.

I wish you every success in your own efforts, JB.

He is hoping that he doesn't have to shrug. By buying up Twitter, Elon Musk hopes to preserve a remnant worth keeping before the entire world goes into an abyss. We'll see if he succeeds. Elon making a hostile takeover bid for Twitter reminds me of what people like Dagny and Hank do to prevent the end from happening. While John Galt had a promising future, Dagny and Hank had a lot worth preserving. It was frankly easier for Galt to "go Galt" than it was for some of the other titans.

As a business starter now, I am really fighting this battle.

In Atlas Shrugged, the end appeared inevitable to most of us, but when you put yourself in their situation, it doesn't seem quite so inevitable, primarily because you think that you can insulate yourself from the effects of others around you.

When he uses all the loot he has taken from the People and creates the Gulch, I'll start thinking Eloot is reformed.
The Gulch would be the best investment he could ever make, assuming the investment includes a method to defend it from looters.

While I agree that Hank Rearden is greater than Elon Musk, Elon has moved away from his looter ways in recent years, and I can see that like with Hank, the tumblers are starting to click into place. Elon Musk does still have some contradictions, but like many of us, he is still learning.

Maybe you are correct but he does think the global delete are stupid and calls them out; so maybe he is just unaware of the overall evil plan...or maybe not!

On the subject of free speech yes, but definitely an individual of mixed premises, as contradictions do exist with him.

Given Commifornia's taxes, there are very few states that are as expensive to live in, and that doesn't even consider the restrictions on your liberty.
If you are not a producer, Commifornia is less expensive, but still tyrannical. Even Eloot left there.

It's hard to figure Musk out...one moment he's all in on free speech and the next he's all in on the globalist financial reset, transhumanism and autonomous everything.

I'm thinking similar thoughts, VetteGuy. The protagonists (anti free speech fools) in this episode seem to have no idea how Orwellian they sound. I can almost imagine Thomas Jefferson et al slapping them along side the head screaming "Wake Up!".

Yeah VetteGuy! I call it "uncloaking". To hear an actual human sit there are argue against free speech if f'ing amazing to me!!! That's where we're at. These marxist progs actually claim that liberty and freedom is fascist. Anybody with an IQ over 80 has to see this for what it is. Insanity.

Reminds me of a theory I heard about a year or two ago: America will eventually split along these lines with some states going for Liberty and some going against. What very few realize is that the Great California Exodus is just that! I was part of it, as are a lot of my friends. We're all choosing sides and voting with our feet. And...the media is now silent. They occasionally say it's "the high cost of housing", while failing to point out that most of California is as cheap or cheaper than all those states people are fleeing to. I spent double here than I ever spent in California. It was worth it...

Definitely some similarities between HR and EM.

To me, one of the more interesting parts of all the publicity around Musk/Twitter, is the arguments put forth against him. It really pulls the mask off their agenda to control thought.
