Idaho Law Makers Consider Bill Forcing Students to Read 'Atlas Shrugged

I agree with them. All people, young and old should be "highly encouraged" to read Atlas Shrugged. It should be like a right of passage into adulthood. I hate to say forced, but urged is certainly the correct term.

    legal compulsion is one thing, required reading in primary education is another. As you posit encouragement is appropriate. I was required to read manys books as I recall. I remember having a choice of books on a couple of occasions and in one case choosing Animal Farm (a book worthy of mature consideration). AS should be an option for high school english classes. Finding enough teachers inclined to give unbiased support in the present atmosphere is more of a problem. Regards,
