Recently bought a vintage (ca 1917) mahogany table top wind up record player. I cleaned it up and did a few repairs and now it looks and works great (sounds decent, too!). Got some period 78rpm records, too. LOL, if the SHTF and the power goes out I'll have music for years to come.

Me dino began remembering such ancient history when Biden booby brained blathered something stupid about "turning on your record player" like everyone still has one of those.
That did awaken me an old dino memory about having my very first little kid's record player with little kid music for a Christmas present.
Had a 45RPM speed centered with a big hole during the early Sixties and 33RPM speed playing vinyl albums by the late Sixties.
Usually when I see RPM printed in the here and now it's referring to full metal jacket rounds per minute.
8-tracks came and went like a blur before I was using cassettes. Began to use a cassette recorder as a reporter during the Seventies after a crooked mayor denied saying something I put into print.
These days I'll still buy a CD every long once in a while that's only played in my car.
