Congressional Deals

Has anyone here ever thought about the magnitude of the deals struck in Congress, and the basis of these deals?

FFA's post regarding mandatory mortgage insurance got me thinking. What was the basis of this rule? Who has stock in an insurance company or a subsidiary interest?

What do people think about recording and making available to the public ALL communications between congresspeople, and potentially other executives/judiciaries?

Now, now, Thor. How do expect congressional level career public servants to become millionaires with mansions by hampering them an "all communications" rule?
But wait, save for rarely voting them out of office, We The People have as much chance of making career politicians impose upon themselves an all communications rule as we do with term limits.
Or why ignore mail that says (between the lines), "Hey, sucker, fatten my wallet so we at Scam, Inc., can finally impose term limits."

Most of this stuff is available - if you have the time and money to pursue a FOIA request...
Unless of course the conversation happens at your private residence in Delaware...

Agreed. Sunlight is the best disinfectant. And boy, howdy, could we use it!
