Move to lower population density. Preferably an agricultural/industrial area where folks are more inter-dependent upon one another. When lives are more enjoined in first-hand endeavors of mortality there is far less assumption between parties.

I closed 30+ years of business operations in Minneapolis, MN, and moved 300 miles east. I established the resources for most of my food supply in gardening. I established relationships for other resources through trade...person to person. I make/earn far less than previous, in monies, and have not been so happy since I was six. Human/humane connection.
