Unless and until someone with ethics and integrity acts to remove the corruption
there will not be any election that reflects the will of the people and the limits of
the constitution.
Nevertheless, I'm convinced Republicans did some of it last time around. How else did Trump get 11 million more votes than in 2016, after four years of being demonized by the media and delivering precious little of what his supporters wanted?

Of course it looks like there is an outbreak in infections again... they're doing a lot more testing! It's simple math. It's still a fact that the virus is 95%+ totally beatable with natural immunity. My brother had Covid last year before the vaccines came out and was out of work a month with what amounted to really bad flu symptoms. He recovered.
I know I've got Covid burnout. Enough already. If people want to not get the vaccine that is their choice. If the dice are rolled and they end up getting very sick and hospitalized it's the way it is. Vaccinated breakthru infections put people in the hospital too. When your number is up it's up. If you want to live hiding under a rock forever afraid of the virus that is your choice. Don't insist everyone else hide there with you.
About public health I generally trust politicians.
I trust major media on most things. . . they care about public health.
The people I really, really trust, when there is a strong consensus, are scientists and doctors
Essentially, about questions of fact, I have near-full trust in a consensus of scholars on the subject when it exists, as it does on vaccines.
Most of the others posting in that thread seem to agree with him.
Insanity is repeating an action and expecting a different result.
Reality bites, and the current government trends are disturbing. Now that it's becoming obvious that the whole COVID situation is being overplayed, the government reaction is to up the gain, and double down on the crackdowns, no matter that even the gullible are beginning to question why they should be obeying government directives.
I am uncomfortable with the feeling that desperation is rising among the swamp dwellers, to the extent that they may decide to gamble on declaring a national emergency that requires a delay in the next elections (I was thinking 2024, but now I'm not so sure it might happen to avoid the coming 2022 Red Wave). These are desperate, irrational fanatics who see their chance for control slipping away.
But there is yet a smidgen of hope.
Remember that Dr. Fauci IS science. Dr. Fauci IS science. Repeat that 1,000 times.
Quit your job to take government hand-outs and take cover all masked up.
Wear that mask--no, up to three masks AT LEAST!--even alone when you just have to drive your car.
Don't worry about any of those who points and laughs at you. Such Deplorable racists are all as good as dead.
As for dead, this Christmas shall be THE FEAST OF THE DEAD!
