Biden's Infrastructure Bill, Mandates "Vehicle Kill Switches" By 2026

Sorry, slaves, no more unapproved travel.

Excerpt:
"The rumors we first reported on back in December have turned out to be true: the United States federal government is apparently in the process of trying to force automakers to install kill switches in their vehicles that authorities can use to shut down any newer vehicle.

The law comes as part of President Biden's infrastructure bill, which was recently signed into law, according to Yahoo. The government kill switch is - like all good thefts of civil liberties - being positioned as a "safety measure". The mandate needs to be put into effect by 2026, Muscle Cars & Trucks reported.

We noted last month that former Rep. Bob Barr, writing for The Daily Caller, called the measure included in the bill "disturbingly short on details", but for the fact that the proposed device must “passively monitor the performance of a driver of a motor vehicle to accurately identify whether that driver may be impaired.”

Which, of course, is code for some kind of device that is constantly on and monitoring your vehicle - and will likely have the power to shut down your vehicle anytime it wants."

My furnace maintenance company offered to replace my thermostat with a Wi-Fi controlled one. I refused saying I'm not going to have the govt control my heat....

I could be wrong but the only products that have heard use On Star is General Motors, Government Owned, pushing electric cars and not even trying to improve or build gas vehicles all that much. This started years ago, how do I know?...Family in the "organization" top officials and one who put her father on to a China stock which he made over $20 a share at the start of the electric car production. My cousin is older and he is very proud of his daughter...hmmm...he tried to tell me about this stock 4 times after the first I checked it out and immediately blocked purchase from my mind. I refuse to make $$$ on the backs of hard working Americans and support even money making Chinese stocks!!

What could go wrong with that ?
All that info and profiling data at their fingertips.
What is stopping them or a hacker from shutting off your car when your driving down the side of a step mountain or some other potentially dangerous situation. Than make the excuse the car thought you was impaired....oops, too bad it cause you to lose control. and go over the edge, onto the train tracks, into perpendicular traffic.
I imagine, "Hope', someone will discover a way to hack this device and disable it or bypass it.

I believe Corvette was the first to install a blackbox to monitor driver behavior (i.e. abuse) to address excessive warranty claims on engine failures. It might have been as early as the late 1990's. Now most High horsepower to weight ratio cars (muscle cars) have have a blackbox on board. Given almost every car has GPS it is a simple step to snitch on drivers who routinely drive over the speed limit to their insurance companies. as mhubb stated "On-Star" has had this "feature" for at least 20 years. Ostensibly for police only use to disable a stolen car. Once in the hands of a government that assassinates presidents they don't like and steals elections that don't go their way, you can put your absolute trust and faith they won't do anything that will violate your god-given constitutional rights /sac/

Already 79. My Doctors keep telling me how to extend my life. Why would I want to extend a life to "enjoy" the destruction of what used to be my country. I am to old and feeble to venture far from home, but I am standing guard, waiting for anyone to invade my space.

I'm a retired corrections officer who used to break up fights and swing a baton when I had to (that last part very rare).
Once able to run to one end of that sizable prison to the other, now I can't run at all. I use a cane and legally use handicapped parking.
Me dino concealed carries because I can't fight anymore. I can still shoot straight, thank goodness.

I know right! Everyday my probable cause of death being government sponsored high speed lead injection increases exponentially. If I behave and am a good little slave I’ll probably have 30 more trips around the sun.

This is just part of UN desire to get rid of cars, be it via, no parking lots at inner city houeing, or just shutting you down. They want all the time control and to keep you in a certain area, like in "Anthem." OnStar had teh ability if needed to shut you down, I do not have it either. Yes, 5G unhealthy electric meters want to control your heat as well. I have a wifi able thermostate, but asked that it not be hooked to wifi, it can be hacked if it is. Wa are going to have to cover everything with Faraday bags before it is over, or get new leaders.

People better wake up. I think those LoJack's will already do this, so it isn't going to be difficult for these people to put this idea in place. I have one in my car and my Rep at the dealership mentioned this to me casually and I have no reason to doubt him.

Something about horse and buggy come to mind. i guess the Amish will have the last laugh. But if this does happen the backlash will be off the charts and Jan 6th will look like a Sunday school picnic.

We have the animals, the vehicles and the harness. Also the whips (something the Amish do not use) that turn out to be very helpful.

Whip uses? Flail the horse to speed him up? Almost never. Good as a turn signal, for fighting off attacking dogs, for getting the attention of a horse's tiny mind, and for whipping the windshield of a car that is seeking to make a right-hand turn right in front of you. We know all these things by experience.

Bicyclists also know about that right-hand turn right in front of you, as well as the parked car with the door that opens three feet in front of you. "Why don't you watch where you are going?" said the driver. "I was watching," I said. "Suddenly it 'inside your car'." Lacking fuel, horses or oxen the bicycle is a good way to get around,

It's kind of funny but I live near a certain national nuclear engineering laboratory which employs some pretty smart fellows. One of those told our group of emergency operators that they have hacked and can remotely drive any vehicle mid-90's or later. If you have On-Star in the vehicle, it's included.

It's all about government control and repression of resistance.

So everyone must pay more for vehicles to make it easier to monitor the few who violate the law. Pondering whether this is inspired by efforts to defund the police - turn monitoring over to computers.

Not to monitor those who violate the law, it's really to use to control (or eliminate) people who disagree with unconstitutional, corrupt government stealing their money and stealing their freedom.
