Insular Elites Are Completely Detached from Reality

Our elites are smug to the point of sociopathy. They think nothing of blithely reimagining your lives because they think they know what’s better for you, for everybody else but themselves.

All the destruction their policies have wrought, an utterly destroyed market, an imploding economy and exploding wealth inequality, that’s on you, not them.

Bacon in large quantity is a sure fire way to avoid old age. And that’s OK.

You misunderstand. They are not disconnected from reality, you just have not yet come to understand your position in the NEW REALITY which they are about to impose upon you.

Once they have changed the definitions of acceptable living standards, and altered the population numbers to "sustainable" levels. Those of their cattle, which they allow to remain, will own nothing and be happy. Or else. Welcome to the new reality.

Just your average retired engineer "Joe" here -- I am out at the grocery store last night.
The price of a 39oz can of Yuban Coffee has gone from $7 to $11 in just two months.
That was the coffee -- other groceries / commodities have similarly skyrocketed.
Anecdotal, but conversations with friends and neighbors show a similar trend -- weekly grocery bills have gone up 50%, and more, in just the past year.
And this is just the start. This will be the Lost Decade of inflation -- running at 40% a year...
That cuts purchasing power in Half every two years.
The only way for the majority of folks to stay financially above water will be for the UBI / FedCoin injections...
This will essentially destroy the value of money (actually, currency).
And this, of course, is the Plan.
    Money is Freedom.
Destroy Money (currency) and fully institutionalize dependence on The State.

One of the biggest elites of them all is Vice President Harris. Our great Dino calls her Cackles. I wonder if she can cackle in fake French.

That's the typical feelingset (not to be confused with a mindset) of the leftist idealogue - they project their fantasies onto real life and have a hard time accepting the fact that the two are often diammetrically opposed. It's the same reason you can't rationalize with them - they refuse to acknowledge that their projections don't match reality.

I am old and have some failing health problems that make working a regular schedule difficult. It doesn't take much to add to my retirement income but it does require some. I like grapefruit in the morning and yesterday the price was $1.89 a pound instead of $.39. Getting difficult to get any food. Still bought some bacon, but it is a treat now, not on the regular shopping list.
Learned to can fruits, vegetables and certain meals, saving money where possible. The socialists keep making it just a little harder to keep going. Life is tough. That I don't mind. Authoritarians making it a little tougher, that I don't like.

"I know what's best for you." The point of freedom is to do what other people think isn't, surely?

Dear FFA, I don't smoke. I don't have any excess weight. But, then, i don't eat bread (except Jewish Rye) and I don't fry my food. My doctor (PCP) is Italian and he screamed when I told him I didn't eat bread. He said, 'Never say that to an Italian'. I do enjoy various wines though.

I had a friend, he is gone now, but he would go into the deli at our local grocery every morning and order a plate of bacon that looked like it had only been slightly warmed up. I ratted him out to his wife, a Registered Nurse, and she shook her head and said he goes over there because she won't let him eat raw bacon at home. Ugh

In moderation, assuming you are in reasonably good health, none of those are bad for you.
In fact bacon and whiskey are good for your health in moderation.
Low carb, high fat diets (fatty bacon) are being used by many people to return to health
by losing excess weight arguably caused by high carb diets.
(Cigars and cigarettes and other smoke even in very small amounts make me cough heavily so they are not good - for me.)

You got me smiling here, 25n56il4, because you sound like my wife (definitely the better half). However, I know good bacon like good whiskey and a good cigar is bad for me, but every once in a while I have to indulge, LOL!

Damn, FFA! I think you got it nailed! The left wants to destroy the meat industry and here's a plan to do it!

Buy-dem will call that price gouging and take over the market in bacon.
Then the price will be $4/lb and there will be no bacon available.

Yesterday my local grocery mart had bacon at $9.99 a pound as well, but it was buy one get one free.

From the article: "Bank of Canada governor says inflation 'transitory but not short-lived'" I don't know what is meant by short lived, but I'm about 70 years old and inflation has been present throughout my entire life. Some years more than others, but always there.

Oh hell, I quit eating bacon way before this. Imagine $10 a pound for something this unhealthy!
