Connecticut's dead last ranking in fiscal stability

I can say unequivocally that I know this to be fact. I live in this "sink hole" of liberal/progressive policies run amok. The complete lack of fiscal responsibility perpetrated by our zealous lib governor is staggering. The best course of action is to cease feeding the beast. Acting on it will require MUCH doing to accomplish.
However, it is in my and my family's best interests to begin a look away from the east coast bottomless pit of waste by an unfettered irresponsible government.

Hey there! How's things your way? Still wilding in the streets, or has that freakshow Sharpton taken his circus and gone looking for more riots to incite?
I hope you weren't near all that craziness.
And I have Utah, so I think I'm covered in your neck of the woods. :-)

I have that picture emblazoned on my brain right now.. Oh,that's such a great analogy.
You're correct though about the innovators, the dreamers and the idea people, and what they conceptualized, and ultimately invented. All the nay sayers just could not imagine anything that they couldn't see right in front of them. I deal with that in design. I can walk into most any space, and visualize what can be done to improve it, redesign it, make it more functional. So many clients could not do that. They can't picture what isn't in front of them. It has always surprised me that other people can't do that. It's just my creative brain I suppose.

The first thing that will happen is the land owners where they are drilling will get less money. Right now private citzens that allow them the rights to drill on their land are making big money. The State Gov. doesn't like that because they can't funnel it to their cronies.

Then, the Marcellus Shale gas companies will, justifiably, pass along the extra taxes they were forced to pay, until there are progressive cries for strict price regulation by politicians and cronies. And, when that is not enough, then....

NMA, either come to tropical paradise here in east central Florida with me, or head out west like Eudaimonia did. Get out of Connecticut. Vote with your feet.

The 3 west coast states aren't any better. Nor any state with a top 15 city (by pop). Dense population seems to breed collectivist ideology.

No eating nails. or brad, tacks, deck screws, lag bolts, glaziers' points, or any of that - none of you. you'll get hurt.
nma, I think you put your finger on it [eeeeuuuu, sorry] when you said the populace believes this is how government is supposed to work.
They can't believe anything else. It takes a certain amount of knowledge, intelligence and imagination to actually conceive of things being different than they are. Most humans just don't have it - not only are they too busy earning a living in this perverted system to use their brain for anything else, they've been systematically taught [not only in school, but by life] that things don't change. I don't know how you read the story of Edison, for example, and still "don't get" the idea that there were no light bulbs before a certain point in history. But the majority of our population really, truly don't and can't grasp "different".
That's why our efforts are always uphill. Unless people are of the type that can imagine differences, you essentially have to teach them how to do that. And then you have to teach them why, if they're going to make their situation different, they shouldn't choose to take your money, but instead earn their own.
That "earn your own" idea is getting more and more rare, too. A big landscaping supplies business just outside of Denver advertised for workers last season - at pretty good money. The owner needed about 130 people to run the business over the summer; about half that showed up for interviews. When they heard the work was outside, about half that number walked out. The guy closed down - there was no way he could keep his business going with only his extended family working.
People of all ages don't want to work at all, but if they have to, they want to show up in crummy clothes, whenever they want, produce junk, and collect a check. The idea of value for value has faded. They shouldn't have to provide anything of value for their paycheck.
I know I'm telling everybody what they already know, but one of the things that we have to remember, especially today, is that, if we are among those who try to change it, improve it, teach and lead, it will be like taking 20 3-year-olds to the bathroom. just after recess. in winter, when they're all wearing snowsuits they can't get out of alone.
There will be a lot of screaming and you'll probably get pee on your shoes.

The only person who deserves your money is you. The government isn't earn it, didn't put forth any effort for it. None. They are second handers and moochers and looters. All. They have evolved into a giant parasitic beast. It needs to be dealt with.

It's amazing how people fall for that. They say someone is making money and for some reason the government deserves a chunk of it. Frustrating!

And people somehow think that's acceptable. That guy should go live in North Korea for a few years. See how much that fair share thing works for the majority of the people there.

The Democrat leading in the polls here has admitted he is raising our taxes and going after the Marcellus Shale gas companies so they "pay their fair share". The republican we have isn't great but this guy will bury us. Pass me the nails.

I cannot comprehend that the voting populace is still so stupid and stuck in believing that this is the way government is supposed to work. It makes me want to spit nails!!

Surprised Pennsylvania isn't higher on that list. The Democrat running for Governor is leading in the polls so my guess is we will move up a few notches soon.
