That route to school reminds me of a story about a school in Africa. The kids had to walk to get there, nearly two hours each way for some of them, and there were fees to pay.
Seems teaching was done there, what an idea.

Oh, FFA, my condolences. I had Sam for 17 years, and now I've had Fred for almost 11. I don't think I'll replace him. It hurts so when you lose one. N

Sorry to hear that FFA. I have had that task several times. Losing a family member is so very hard.
    Peace.

Beginning in the early part of my second-grade year, my family moved onto a dirt road, about a third of a mile from the schoolhouse, where the bus didn't go, but, although I got a bike when I was about 10, it never occurred to me to ride it back and forth to school (although I was glad to have it; I had long wanted a bicycle). I went back and forth on foot.

Looks like you could put together a whole comic book yourself!--addressed to Old Ugly Carl.

All great. But I am sure the doggie sharing his abilities learned from my Fred. He announces the mailman, people walking down the street, other doggies, etc. I feel so safe! I really got a ha ha from the LGBTQ one, I have wondered what those letters stood for, now I know! Thanks. Nan

So are "fats." Before a rigged "election" gave us Quid Pro Quo Schmoe Buyhim. a head of lettuce was just under a dollar.
Just got back from a local grocery store. Saw a heads of lettuce selling for $2.67 each.

Great collection. I like the snow suit for pain. I don't have a carb cutting bicycle, would a unicycle do? Finally, a decent meaning for LGBTQ, LOL!

Yep - all land lines, party lines and no remotes - until my Dad asked me to change the channel. And Johnny Carson was great. Back then I could stay up all night and work all day. Not so much anymore.

Me dino, age 74, had childhood memories sparked by some of those first memes.
Recall my dad who grew up in Massachusetts telling me how he walked to school trudging through the snow. Growing up in Alabama, I peddled my bike several blocks to get to school during the Fifties.
My kids? Their mother would not let them walk and I never saw a kid going or leaving school on a bike. Schools don't even have bike racks any more.

Sorry to hear that, Freedom. Been there and vowed, if at all possible, to let them die naturally in my arms...it's a valued sense of guiltless closure.

I know you did that out of compassion and to end your pets missery.

    My thoughts are with you.
