As a result, the company relied on software to oversee workers at its warehouse and track drivers delivering products to customers. However, the same machines Amazon trusted for its human resources operations terminated employees for small slip-ups beyond their control ...”

Man against machine, and the machine wins, again.

AI is just starting to creep into society, give it 10 - 15 years and humans will be the slaves to the machines...

A woman fired by Amazon's machine could not pay her mortgage, got help from welfare.
Some thoughts from that: welfare paid from taxation. How much if anything does Amazon, or its principal owner, pay in tax?
Even counting jobs and wages, is Amazon a net contributor?
Their management say- anecdotal evidence, so it happens! Business planning reliant on stat outcomes is ok in general but when people are hurt this is not to be allowed.
