The looters will have to die in their act of looting by large numbers, not some random pissed off business owner shooting a few on the fly. I'm thinking this will happen when many goods are controlled by war lords or equivalent, Mogadishu style, and those zones will be no-go zones for the normal authorities. Of course, once the potential looters KNOW there's a bullet with their name on it if they loot, I suspect they will cease their bad habit asap.

Oh dear! Imagine my shock at looters attacking an Amazon van in broad daylight. You should see them walking out of the Office Depot store in my town carrying printers and laptops they've shoplifted and the police won't come on a call for something less than $1,000! Isn't that alarming? What has happened to people's work ethic????

All I could think of was a drop of blood was spilled in the water and a feeding frenzy ensued. Even people stopping their cars to loot, load up, and drive away. Don't try to tell me those people are civilized.
