I'm seeing more and more ads regarding this subject. My wife and I have a nice supply of "grocery store" foods stored up, but nothing with that long of a shelf life. None are cheap, so a little research is in order. Shelf life, nutrition, calories are all good measures, but the stuff has to taste good, too. I figure somebody in the Gulch may have the scoop on this topic.

I've seen the spreads in the commercials for these meals and it all seems to be, what I call, "Mushy Meals"...Where's the Beef?
If you want real meat, it ain't cheap, from what I gather.

My patriots supply sponsors many of the content providers that I follow. That said I am like you we have lots of store bought food ....rice, pasta, canned goods are the longest lasting items. I have not tried any MRE products.
