A slight amount of research, oops, I mean poking around with my browser, reveals that the 1913 one is probably from 1915 and shows French women taking the place of plow horses that had been commandeered by invading Germans.

You can learn a lot by looking carefully at old photographs or even old drawings or paintings.

Here, inspection instantly reveals that the women are pulling against wide singletrees that are intended for draft horses. That rig is for a pair of horses, as each singletree is hitched to an evener on the harrow frame that applies the force of the two horses to a single point. This arrangement keeps the frame from twisting about in spite of the varying pull from each horse. The singletrees similarly correct for the side-to-side motion of the harness attached to the collar at horse's shoulders. If the horses were using neck collars, it appears that they have been removed (perhaps taken by the Germans) or that breast collars were in use instead.

My wife pointed out yet another thing. What is that lady in the middle doing, with the strap over her shoulder? It's for lifting the front of the harrow frame so it does not get caught in the earth. Horses would be pulling at about three to four feet above the ground, lifting the front of the frame slightly. Those gals aren't tall enough for that.

There is plentiful much to learn about old technology, if one is interested. Owning horses helps encourage one beyond normal curiosity. My wife says that over the years she must have owned nearly a hundred horses. Not all at once, though. Right now it's just twenty.

This meme immediately sparked a memory of a funny sight I saw way back during the Seventies.
Two sheriff's deputies in identical uniforms stood side-by-side outside a courthouse.
One was a little skinny guy who wore a holstered humongous revolver that looked like a 44 Magnum and it probably was.
The other deputy was a huge burly pot-bellied guy wearing a holstered tiny gun of some sort that looked like a bump on his hip. I'm sure it was a gun because I could see the inkling of a handle sticking out.
The comparison between those two mismatched officers of the law was just . . . special.

Landline united the not-pictured extended family of cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, too.

All the photos showing changes to women should remind people how far the fairer sex has fallen in so few years.
The rapid decline in liberty, morality, and the family unit started with voting being expanded to people with little
understanding of individual liberty and free markets, and people who favored safety as a replacement for freedoms.

"Good old days" for the most part, but the 1913-2013 comparison speaks in favor of today.

Yeah, I am on the same "page" with you for that one. The others, though, are great. And HOW anyone can wear ripped and torn clothing on purpose is just....something I will never understand.

The "ripped and torn" look is just the leftist fashion designers preparing the citizens for what clothing will look like after the "great reset", or whatever it is. Kids today best learn sewing skills to keep their clothing together, not the cell phone skills which will not help them at all. If the commies have their way.
