I understand from the news that some parents who did home schooling during the pandemic want to continue it; also that some parents who saw (over the Internet) what their children were being taught in school have become disillusioned with the schools. This could be a
handle which we could take advantage of, (though it is not the whole argument, of course).

The teachers Union will click in double time. What a great hoorah this would cause.

What would work is if we refused to pay our school taxes until they kick the Union out and quit brain washing our kids. I'll bet you could get a referendum on abolishing school taxes. That would be a popular vote. Anyway Texas is a right to work state so the Unions better tread lightly.

I believe that the taxes for schools are taken from the income taxes and not sent it separately, so just refusing to "pay our school taxes" is not a tactic that would work. (I'm glad that Texas is a right-to-work state; so is Virginia, so far, but some people are trying to mess that up.) But you couldn't just abolish school taxes without abolishing public education outright.--Still, things are changing; people are getting disillusioned with it; some are actually getting fed up, I believe; so with the right campaign, it could eventually succeed. Why not? It took over 40 years, but the 19th Amendment was passed.

Yes, it would cause a hoorah. But the Teachers' Union might find it wasn't getting all that much support from the populace. People are not as willing to bow down and kowtow whenever somebody mentions "Education!" as they used to be.
