It Got Serious In A Hurry

Reality doesn’t invert. A corollary is that the severity of consequences from an inversion is the square of the distance between the inversion and reality. Consider the US military. It has disregarded the realities of the wars it has fought—the relative difficulty of invasion versus defense, the deadly effectiveness of guerrilla warfare and insurgency, the corruption, tyranny, and lack of domestic support for our puppets, and so on—losing every conflict since WWII, often after lengthy and in some cases ongoing engagements.

The current crop of corruptocrats have introduced yet another inversion in the military, the woke inversion. The military will now be graded on its commitment to combat-irrelevant factors: the racial, ethnic, gender, sexual preferences and political creeds of its forces, and their professed fealty to regnant political dogma. In other words, “diversity” in everything but thought.

Clearly defeated means everyone knows it. So many of the useful idiots do not see it and the victors can not yet announce their full tyranny. They need more control before we get more transparency. People like me will not know how to survive after that.

I fear that the US military may have won its last war ever and that is by design. I hope to be wrong. I never want to live long enough to live in a clearly defeated nation.

    That is an understatement!
Here's a thought to ponder. I'm going to offer it in the "raw', as it came to me. All of this upheaval is based upon "rescue". Rescuers seeking aggrandizing acclaim and the potential Rescued seeking the path of least resistance. A lot of permutations resulting. Egotism vs Egoism....or lack thereof.
This comes from a thought I had years ago. Live as if there is no rescue. "By my life and love of it...."?

Thank you. The challenge is always how to take a mass of concrete details, condense it, and then convey their essential meaning.

Perhaps Biden believes the military is his foil against the people, and questions if the foil will strike. It is not at all unlikely that he's been told the colleges have succeeded, and the military veterans are the next population to submit.

However, he will turn the military into the snowflakes the rest of his party are, and the rest of the world is watching with glee.

Wonder what it felt like as a French citizen during the beginning of WWII? Get ready.

I hope the country survives Biden. I have completely lost trust in this, however.

One edit I would make: "They number in the millions and their dollars in the trillions, but many of them are ideologically retrograde, running-dog deplorables."

    change to

"They number in the millions and their dollars in the trillions, but many of them are ideologically retrograde; dog-faced, pony-soldier; Wal-Mart shopping; clinging to their god and their guns; MAGA-worshipping deplorables." :) Might as well get a more comprehensive list of ad hominem in there. =D

    Otherwise a very nice article.

Well said. At 75 years of age I have lived through many drama's including hyperinflation in the 70's and the oil embargo. We are at the tipping point of collapse - almost as if by design. Yes, none of us will get out of this alive but what will be our legacy?

We should have been saving everything, books, tools, tech and the energy to run them so at the restart of civilization will not start from scratch...the American constitution and moral, ethical teachings should guide that restart.

Laughing, there is much tado about Infurstructure spending...We should only spend what we have to to keep things going as is and spend the rest on humanities survival of the ending of this civilizational cycle.

If America is going to collapse or there is going to be a civil war, I'd rather the other side be full of WOKE SJWs that are arguing over their genders and failing every fitness test so they can be easily defeated.

As a fellow S0, I've been putting a lot of thought into that. Much planning is being made as we watch the outer planets start to react. My personal emphasis has been on the preservation of knowledge. Ancient wisdom and modern innovation. What will future societies learn from Sumeria, Egypt, Rome and the great American Experiment?

I wish you had stayed on the soapbox a bit longer. That was good. Raw competence is being tossed on the Pyre of Privilege while virtue-signaling nit-wits and identitarians are promoted. The tide will turn when a sufficient number of bodies are sacrificed to the mob of EDI (Equality, Diversity, Inclusion) zombies.

"The severity of consequences from an inversion is the square of the distance between the inversion and reality."
As a longtime engineer and scientist, I see this observation as mathematically beautiful.
Thank you Robert, for your continued well-thought articles.

On a slightly different note -- when I first saw a still photo of President Biden's slip while heading up the stairs to Air Force One, I thought it was a computer generated image... that couldn't be real. Then I watched a couple short videos from the scene. Good Lord. This frail, senile, puppet is the elected US President and "the most powerful person on Earth?" The inversion is jaw-dropping, the distance is vast and the consequences will be both predictably and profoundly painful.

To be pedantic, he's not 100% correct. The US didn't lose Gulf War I, or Grenada. But other than that. . .

This is just unbelievable. There should be one, and only one, criterion: can you do the job?

My philosophy is simple, and holds true for the military, for the police force, and for fire departments. If you can drag my unconscious ass out of a fire, or pull my wounded ass away from a shoot out or off the battlefield, then I will gladly go into a fire, or into a hostage situation, or into war with you. I don't care whether your plumbing is indoor or outdoor. I don't care what you do in your private life. I don't care if you have sex with farm animals in your spare time. If you can save my life, I'll welcome you into whatever situation it is.

Nothing--not a damned thing--should matter other than that.

    Sorry...climbing off my soapbox now...
