Most "kids" of 30 don't know enough about life to make an informed decision on anything.
Any 18 year old who volunteers for military service is no more informed that any other 18 year old.
Maybe after they complete 4 years of service they will have more life experience but not necessarily be more informed about what government actions are constitutional, for example.

Generally kids of that age don't know enough about life to make an informed decision on such matters. Caveat, anyone who volunteers for military service has every right to vote and drink alcohol.

My 17 year old son went in the Army and he never even dreamed of voting. All he thought about was girls.
