Exceptions- hobbyists, collectors, sports, farmers.
Exception another group, a small and vocal minority of do-gooder wokists.
From the media you could think that as controls get tighter, gun crime goes up. The reality is that gun crime in Australia is low. Gun ownership is low, criminal gangs have above average gun ownership. (middle eastern drug dealers mainly).

What happens is- every 5 to 10 years a crime is reported where the journalist has no info so pads the story -" witness thought a person fleeing could have been carrying an item, it may have been a gun". The wokes are provoked, governments should ignore the hysterics, but they give way, "we will certainly consider tighter controls..". Nothing of substance happens, but the woke have a victory, they have got stronger.

Just a quick note regarding Australian Gun Laws.
Being Australian and living in Melbourne there has not been a spike in Gun Crime at all. The usual mobster thing every now and then but that's all.
We have a completely different attitude to guns, people like them to be sure but it is no big deal.

They actually think a worst case scenario is that you might shoot back and someone might get hurt. It's best that you are defenseless and they just get to take whatever they need safely. I would imagine that .01%(or less) of gun owners would voluntarily give up ANY weapon before absolute resistance occurs. I am NOT part of that .01%. I am already 73 yr old. Doesn't make ANY sense to change now. Although I will resist, I am sorry for any damage I might inflict on ANYONE forced to enforce any seizure.

I found several self propelled, M107, 175mm Guns between $7K and $60K each, depending on condition. Anyone willing to chip in? The M107 can only shoot 20 miles or so but has a huge killing diameter.
