I don't think there is a problem discussing religion here as long as you don't try to force it on others through proselytizing. I suspect even atheists must admit there is a lot of philosophy and advice in the Bible worthy of discussion.

The spiritual world is something different. Belief in it is accepted by a leap of faith.
Think of the geniuses who are our Founding Fathers, great men of profound reason, great men of profound logic, who wrote the Declaration of Independence,
We The People's Constitution, The Federalist Papers. etc., Founding Fathers who altogether proclaimed that we have inalienable rights given to us by a God of freedom.
That's the God of the Bible that can't be seen but believed in by those who by the gift of a free will chose to do so.
Think I've laid out what is already known, having left a lot out. This is no preaching.

    I love that last part.
But...what is the Spiritual world? The Quantum Field?. The Cosmic Web? Something entirely different?
That is what confounds our understanding of the ancients...they had no other way to look at and describe these things...so we are left, Guessing...

The ancients believed in a spiritual world and the Hebrews among them likewise believed in the supernatural but also in a great influential evil that is not of flesh and blood.
So does an old-fashioned American dinosaur, who for all his 74 years very recently realized that there is actually a big fat difference between being wide awake and wickedly woke.

Well, your insight doesn't have to be about the bible. I was thinking BIG PICTURE insights but one that relates to ancients that wrote those verses, I think we can all agree that they understood something we don't and I observe that: THEY WEREN"T BLOWIN SMOKE. As a concept, good versus evil is as good as any that describes the dichotomy.

Methinks it would go against the rules of The Gulch to discuss a Bible passage and "spiritual wickedness."
Me dino is an admitted Christian but being perceived as preaching my belief system may well get me tanned or banned or canned when I like the company here.

Spot on, OUC, your summarization, “ ... they themselves do not have that connection.” Hits the nail squarely on the head.

I think I shall refer to these types as the “Empty Man”.

I'll tell you all something that's very weird. This is the second time today I read Ephesians 6:12. I'm currently reading The Overton Window by Glenn Beck. That along with a Part Two book called The Eye Of Moloch was during a recent visit given to me second-hand by brother Joe, who gave me Christmas gifts of the Atlas Shrugged DVDs, introducing me to Ayn Rand and that leading me here in The Gulch 7 years and 4 months ago.
Anyway while today reading The Overton Window hours ago, one fictional character told another to read Ephesians 6:12. Then I looked it up in a Bible I have.
Now how often does something like that happen?

Laughing...that's exactly why I added the wtf to the question mark meme.
Clearly these creatures have no reverence for Humankind nor nature itself. Mankind's evolution has been primarily cognitive, from picture thinking, to language, to mental skill sets, to left/right brain recognition, to self realization, to introspection and who knows where from there.

But the really sad point is that only 40/50% of the human species has made it that far and I think that is self evident when observing where the non conscious parasites of society want to push us toward, They are the one's left behind, the one's that assume rule over us.

They simply wish to wipe out our humanity and our connection to everything that is because they themselves do not have that connection.

That really defines: The Dark Side.

Storm Clouds on the horizon...do they advance upon us or them?

I think we shall soon see, one way or another.
    Stay safe and choose wisely.
