I shall never forget Pelosi's statement, 'Let's pass the Bill and read it later.' Such an intelligent comment.

This makes too much sense. They’ll never go for it. And I’m sure, somehow, it’s racist. Because, reeeeasons.

That's the primary point. No more massive bills we have to pass in order to see what's in it. No more earmarks. No more pork. Simple bills. Up or down.

I like the idea of having the bill read on the floor. I wonder how long it would take to read obamacare. They'd probably still be reading!

I'd love for both the House and Senate to have a rule that any bill introduced to the full floor for consideration must be read in its entirety on the floor in the presence of a quorum. That's the requirement in my State and it makes people keep their legislature short and on topic. No 10,000 page omnibus bills introduced two days before a vote is called.

And technically, these conferences they have to reconcile bills are unConstitutional. The House is supposed to vote either up or down on a Senate bill and vice-versa. You don't get to make two versions and then have a "gang" select which parts you're going to keep from each. The process should be eliminated as part of a return to good governance.

I'm for anything that gets senators and reps to start representing their STATES rather than their PARTY. While we are at it, I would like to see the senate rules changed to initiate a 'super-filibuster'. If you can't get 2/3 to 3/4 of the senate to agree that a bill is a good law, well, then it's probably not worth passing. And while we are at it, let each bill cover just one topic. No more hiding unpopular stuff like Minimum wage by hiding it in 'stimulus packages. Just a few things from my wish list ...
