"German RBB (Berlin-Brandenburg) public broadcasting recently aired a report on the region’s winter energy woes titled: “Germany’s green energies strained by winter.”

The report acknowledges that all the power is “currently coming mainly from coal, and the power plants in Lausitz” are now “running at full capacity”.

    Hello,
here in Germany the "AntiFa", the communist fascists are attacking coal power plants. Here are nearly only idiots, so I love you Atlas Society People! I have the original american Atlas Shrugged Book near my bed. Sometimes I read some pages before sleeping. If I have the book read up to the end, then I read it again from the beginning! ;-))>>

Best wishes, good health and very much success, best regard`s

    Hans

Hello, much fun with the corona Mask Carnival fashing; my Computer Shop is open: Pick-Up Service, Computer-Repairs etc. are allowed! But the big Electronic stores / my competitors are closed! I make aproximately 12% more revenue with my shop! Some customers think they must help my shop and are paying aproximately € 5 or even € 15 more ! ! Better margins and more profit, a very big shopping mall here in the near is bancrupt, but the chinese restaurant there is still open / pick-up service, to take the food is allowed! A very big nice italian Café - Restaurant with very excellent quality is closed. The boss Frank is a very good customer from my Computer-Shop. I think the corona virus came out of the communist P4 bio weapon laboratory in Wuhan near the fish-market. They did not let the people from the WorldHealth-Organisation inside the Lab. And yes, the black forrest is a very nice area and now we have very beautyful normal winter wheather! Take care on yourself and best wishes

        Hans

Hans- several points there, I agree with all.

As for not letting the WHO people in the lab, my first step is to keep their hands out of my pockets.

Thank you, yes, I think so. I know now some people who were infectet. After aproximately 1 month they were all healthy again. I know a russian lady who had the infection, because she is working in a nursing home. She is also healthy again and all the residents are also no longer infected. I think the P4 BioWeaponLab-Virus from Wuhan is not so very much dangerous. Don`t worry and live best as you can, with productivity and happy!

Is this poetic justice? It seems the myth of AGW and the steps they took to combat it are being thwarted by a freezing cold natural winter.

Side note: Those acres of solar panels here in Western NY (a long way from Germany) subsidized by taxpayers are all buried in snow as well. I wonder how that's working out. I guess ice build up on wind turbines around here can be a real PITA as well (it was 8 degrees F this morning).

Edit add: The article states Germany may need to fire up nat-gas turbines and get the gas from Russia. I figure by the time the Xiden administration gets done, we'll be needing Russian nat-gas as well.

I live in a county of 75k. We have around 115k cows.....milk and gas one stop!
As a backup we have a NG powerplant that can switch to coal in a pinch. Municipal owned.

I live in the 4th largest US County with a pop. of 53k. No coal.

But lots of gold. With the main transcontinental rail and highway route running right through the middle, we should be able to buy anything we need. But little known to most, the Biden moratorium on oil and gas on federal lands also puts a moratorium on surface disturbance "permits". No drilling for gold either. You can still stake a mining claim, but you can't do anything with it except pay the feds the annual "maintenance fee".

No doubt the moratorium will become permanent as they phase Uncle Joe out.

Looking at the state of things now I wish my grandfather and father stayed with the farms. I'm city raised, but remember as a child visiting relatives in farm country. All gone now except for memories and photographs. My wife grew up on a dairy and potato farm, but that ended when she was in her late teens. She misses the farm, but it too is long gone. If I were even 20 years younger today, I'd be looking for a small farm, but at my age I will have to take my chances what's left of Free America will hang in there until after we're dead.

We are not completely devoid of the skills of the previous generation as my wife and I grew and preserved fruits and vegetables for years and still have the knowledge. We can do some things, but not as much as when we were younger.

              Well....just a visit. There's the hook!
In the event of a real melt-down along the coasts, or a value based move of choice. You are welcome here.

I'd rather it be value based before any meltdown, but thanks! We've been looking casually, but haven't found anything we like so far. My list of requirements isn't very large, but on top is limited government meddling and costs - which is the main problem here, a good medical facility not too far away - we are getting on in years, a decent grocery store, a decent hardware store, clean water, land with good dirt you can grow stuff in, less snowy winters than here but winter is ok. I like green stuff like trees and grass and even meadows of various flora, but I won't live in a desert or a flood plain. The saga continues...

If only they had gone with the big hideous wind mills they would have bee free of fossil fuels and still be kept warm. I know this because the left has told me so. :)

Once Again, France, using Nuclear was always more green than Germany and their stupidity.

Liberal Ideas always sound great until they meet reality. Like the dead birds at the base of the wind turbines. (The ones my brother said don't exist because the RPMs are so slow... Until we did the math together, and he realized the tip of the blade moves much faster, facts...).

Dang that racist Mother Nature! That fickle white European goddess needs to go check her privilege.
This discouraging whims of the weather story will definitely be ignored by all the Green New Deal's obedient Fake News puppets.
All those thousands of laid-off oil line workers promised the payday rescue of nonexistent solar panel jobs can't feel more cheated than they are.
They no longer have union bosses paid-off to tell them to vote Dem the American economy all to hell.

This comes as no surprise to me. There is a large field of solar panels in my Michigan hometown. Whenever it snows, they are covered. Can't they even produce enough energy to melt the snow off themselves, so they can then produce net power for the grid?

I have the same issue with my satellite dish, but it doesn't run on coal at all. I have to send my wife outside and up the hill to knock the snow off. She's German too, some anyway.

Maybe they need more ‘fans’ to blow the snow off the solar arrays so that the solar panels can generate more power for the wind turbine/fans to blow snow off the panels ... sarc of course

I'm thinking spraying an amount of micronized coal on the snow covering the solar panels would be enough to restore power generation. Less fuel used, not consumed, and you can vacuum it up for the next go-round. Effective, nearly pollution free application. Am I stupid or what?

The wind turbines don't do well in very cold temperatures. The blades are made out of fiberglass composites they are attached to a gearbox and depending on the manufacturer they will use varying bearing assemblies. All need lubricants that can run only certain range of temperatures. Can you imagine power German power companies sending out tech with pressurized gas torches to heat the rotating equipment in every wind turbine.
I have solar panels on my roof but with the snow storm about two weeks ago covered my panels for about three days there by causing my electric bill to go up because I was using more power from the grid. The Green New Dealers have no clue amongst may other issues regarding their Eco-fantasies.
