The Big Lie

Okay, one BIG lie. This one is the propaganda purported by the Left that the GOP has been hijacked by right-wing zealots. Really? Let's examine the record. Bush 41: moderate who appointed a flaming lib Supreme Court judge. Bush 43: Claimed to be a conservative, but expanded entitlements without a way to pay for it (Medicaid drug plan), sang Kumbaya with Ted Kennedy to pass a dreadful education bill (No Child Left Behind Act), and rarely vetoed a spending bill. McCain: God knows what political philosophy this guy has. Mainly, he just seems to like to piss people off, whether is his own party or not. And Romney: Romneycare, need we say more? If these are accomplishments of wing nuts (as John Avlon likes to call them), I'd say they have failed miserably. SO, Dear Reader, what do you think?

Give the Left some time, I'm sure they have a committee working on it right now. It's all about reaching a consensus for them.

    I agree with the OP.
They've been labeling moderate Republicans "right wing extremists" for, it seems like, the past decade.
I think the strategy is to get the moderates afraid of being viewed as "extreme" for holding their moderate views.
It pushes them left of center instead of right of center, out of fear for how the public perceives them.
It's a way to keep conservatism from growing by attacking the flexible, mushy middle, rather than the inflexible hardline right.

Then, after labeling moderates as "right wing extremists" for so long, a surprising thing happens: the Tea Party viewpoint gathers strong support.

Now what adjectives do they use to describe this group?

"Oh mama I'm in fear for my life from the long arm of the law (drum beats, drum beats) Lawman has put an end to my running and I'm so far from my home (drum beats again)
Oh mama, I can hear your crying you're so scared and all alone....(YEAH!!!)" Good times...

One of my sisters in law is a teacher, and she DESPISES nclb. She teaches special Ed, and bucks the system as often as she can. She has students that she tutored that are now in HS honors classes. She good at inspiring them, and if she can get the parents on board, even better. She teaches in a low income area in Alexandria, VA. Lots of immigrants.

frankly, I don't know many teachers (the good ones) who care one wit for the way NCLB has been instituted in the classroom.every time we standardize, it gives indoctrinators an easy pipeline right into the brains of our kids. I'll bet if we looked at a sample Iowa Basic Skills test today compared to 30 years ago, we would be amazed at how most of the questions are worded

I believe you're absolutely on the $$. "No child left behind"? That's a good one, noble idea, lousy execution. What it really means is: "No School Administrators Pocket Left Unlined". My better half and I have been fighting publik (misspelled on purpose) schools since, well, our kids have been in. We argue for education not indoctrination. Yes, they ALL have FAILED miserably. The real question is, was this by accident or where the perpetrators intentionally being stupid?

The more you speak out the more foolish they look. Their stories are lies and their logic is flawed. We have not lost. You can not lose unless you quit. So fight and rest, then fight again. gather your strength, gather your wits and gather your resources. Fight for your children and your grandchildren. Then teach them why you fight.

It does no good to speak out. I accept the fact that our grandchildren will live in a communist/socialist nation, but I will not help the "powers that be" reach that goal.

Unfortunately, they have the advantage of having the Media behind them. This means that they can repeat the claims, unchallenged, until the next election when it will be ironed into everyone's brain that the GOP is nut jobs.

They also have the university elites telling everyone that socialism is the best way, and creating a whole new generation of useless idiots that believe we should all make the same money and live in communal housing like the Chinese do.

Get involved, speak out, or just accept the fact that our grandchildren will live in a communist/socialist nation.
