Its Time For All Good Sheeple To Set Their Clocks Ahead One Hour

Its that time of the year once again when Man fools himself into thinking that he is "Saving an Hour". What a Fool he is, who thinks he can control the concept of time, and ultimately force his misguided notions on his fellow man. For he is not saving anything - he merely arises one hour earlier each day and retires one hour earlier each evening. How that saves anything is beyond my comprehension - it ranks right up there with "I'm from the government and I'm here to help" .. or "masks protect..." As Einstein puts it - its all relative !

I hate this time of year when we are forced to live in a society who sheepishly thinks that time can possibly be saved. All that is happening is Man is screwing with has Circadian Rhythms twice a year - and it takes about two weeks for has body to adapt each time he fiddles with the clock.

I for one hate and detest the notion of Daylight Savings Time. I Keep My Clocks Set To Standard Time All Year Long. After all, High Noon has always meant when the Sun is at its Zenith and that is mostly at Twelve O'clock ... NOT ONE O'CLOCK !!

I do not reset my clocks - not a single one - and i continue to operate only on Standard Time only, as I have for the last 30 plus years. I simply keep appointments and schedules one hour earlier than usual during this most screwed up time of the year.

Will you join me in my "Crusade to Save Standard Time" ???

As long as I have been alive, DST was in place. I think that it becomes more noticeable as we are aware of time through work, play, and Galting.

It's most fun when the same person gets "stuck" 5 to 10 times. The response: "Would you please....take that damn thing down?"

My latest purchase is to go to a friend from Australia, who is usually late to appointment. I can hear the guffaw in my mind already.

Thanks, but since I already get more daylight in the evening I don't have a problem.

Don’t mess with time ... if you want more daylight in the evening then move to the western boundary of your time zone ... there ... problem solved ...

Yes, but that was a joke. Johnathan Swift suggested we eat children who show themselves irreconcilable by age 10. Also not serious, just a Modest Proposal.

Had to change my wrist watch, car clock, kitchen clock, and Beattle's clock in the great room. Duh.

I can't recall. How did we survive before DST? I think our lives were less complicated.

I have thought this for years. The rationale for DST never made any sense to me.

I like having more daylight hours in the evening, especially during warmer weather when I spend more time outdoors. If we were on standard time all year, the sun would rise where I live as early as 4:23am in June. Not good!

I would be okay with making Daylight Saving (not Savings) Time permanent, like we did in 1973-1974.

It must be those big Agro Companies maintaining that status quo since the United States is no longer an Agrarian Society. After all, this concept, along with a 'school year' were all designed to allow the farmers to get their slaves out of being educated and out into the fields.
It couldn't be that a modern and popular government needs to keeps this outdated and parochial habit alive!

I have suggested in the past that when time for the time/change occurs, that we move it ahead/back just 1/2 hour and LEAVE it there for the rest of "time". So, those for AND against will pretty much get what they "think" they need and no one will really know or see any difference.

I don't think I know a single person who actually likes DST. However, I find railing at it at waste of time. Unless there's a way to actually exert influence on those who can actually make it change, it just causes me unnecessary distress. I also don't think there's a single lawmaker who doesn't KNOW that most of us hate it, and frankly, they don't care. They are the ones who need to own the problem, or it will never change.

Or, as I told my husband, whose sleep schedule is more sacred to him that our marriage, I think: this is not going to change in the near future. Hate it all you want but you know it's coming; prepare for it as much as possible, and then spend the first 2 weeks making it as easy on yourself as you can.

This year was particularly difficult for us because we are trying to settle in to our new, temporary location. So not only are we in new circumstances, we're so tired we're stupid. But at least we're in Texas, which means a lot.

It is annoying and inconvenient for parents who try to put their kids to bed in the summer and it is still light out. For two weeks my circadian clock is messed up, difficult to go to bed on time because I'm not tired and get up 1 hour too early, makes me want to take a nap1

Not only shall I "call" on your inanity, I shall "raise".
I have found the secret to immortality! I have purchased left handed clocks....synchronous reverse time!

Abolish the executive orders that started this, each from a Demon-crap dork: Wilson, FDR, LBJ.

It is an utter waste of time. Supporters struggle to invent reasons to keep it, which have nothing to do with why it was started. Simply ridiculous.

Amateur astronomers and astrophotographers call it Daylight Stupid time. Weather is just getting nice to do some telescope work and now we have to wait another hour fir it to get dark. In June it gets dark in the northern states at 10pm. It sucks and needs to be repealed.

Used to work in Arizona (mountain standard) while commuting from Nevada (pacific standard and daylight) and had a long distant relationship with a lady in the central standard and daylight time zone, all at the same time. That was many many years ago. Now living in the central time zone (daylight and standard). I have always detested “daylight savings” since it served no real purpose except to make people think they were getting something for nothing. I guess I have always been tired of living my life for the sake of others ... hmmm that sounds familiar ...
