My wife and I got the first one automatically deposited from the Treasury just like a tax refund. Nothing on the second, which should have been handled the same as the first. Not even a mailed notice. I guess there's supposed to be a mechanism to apply for it when you file taxes, but since we haven't filed yet I'm clueless as to how that's supposed to work. With this administration MS-13 members that entered the country illegally may get it before us - and they won't have to do a thing other than show up in a sanctuary city and put their hand out.

That's strange because we got rejected for the first one and my wife has been trying for a couple of weeks to file our personal income taxes for last year. I'd love to finally get that money but so far... Nada

I got a notice in the mail that my 2nd economic impact payment ($600) had been sent to my bank via direct deposit. Supposedly from Dept of Treasury IRS Austin Texas. It was dated 2/5/21.
Nothing has shown up at my bank yet. Actually I am not really sure that this has actually been passed by legislature. Any info out there about this.

Yes, today, in my mailbox, I just got an UNEMPLOYMENT CHECK.

Funny thing is, I NEVER APPLIED FOR IT.

This has been going on, A LOT... The REP told me the amount of FRAUDULENT Unemployment claims has been staggering.

AND THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DELAY The checks they are sending out, even if they seem fishy. WOW.

I encourage EVERYONE to LOCK DOWN their credit accounts (CREDIT FREEZE), etc.

Luckily I have LifeLock. They notified me first of suspicious activity, and I stopped it all, instituted 7 yr fraud alerts, and called the 2 banks where new accounts were opened and had them closed!

No denying that. But until you get someone to look at the "small potatoes" - tens of billions of dollars in this case - you're never going to persuade them that there is a bigger problem.
