I have yet to be a follower, never wanted to lead, just wanted others to do what they thought for themselves. When pLandemic came, I did not cower at home, I shopped with other people, maskless. When they mandated masks, I wore the thinnest and pulled it out often, still met with friends for morning coffee. Whole neighborhood walked and stopped to talk together, maskless. When Clinton had Exhelon, a group of my gal pals, would daily use the forbidden words when we called, just to overload the system. When Obama asked for opinions, I daily, told hime what I thought. When in college, and they tried to push women's studies on me, I said no, I like the white European writers, also blacks, but not Gloria Steinman and her ilk, refused to sign up! About 3 of us had black helicopters flying over our houses for a while, but one was a WWII war vet and another a mechanic, we kept emailing. Rand taught us to be strong and true to ourselves, anything else is death.

I don’t do most things that congress mandates because they are irrational. If I choose to go into a store where the store owner demands I wear a mask I will do it out of respect for their private property, or I will just walknout

Do your own homework. If you haven't been influenced by all the Gulch posts about treatments that work against covid (yes, the ones that the government 'experts' say to ignore even though there is ample evidence they work and one has been used widely for 60 years), and fraudulent data to scare people about covid, then nothing I could show you will make a difference to your decision.

Neither are effective. In particular, # 2 if you've already contracted C19 (I have). Getting vaxed is essentially adding more moving parts. As an engineer, I minimize the number of moving parts (failure points). As my friends in the Special Forces like to remark "More Moving Parts" == More likelihood of someone getting killed.

Tom Woods offers a concise summary of the muzzle nonsense:

Good, but lengthy vid, covers all the essentials of the pragmatic approach to C19 including the Vax:

The Covid Scam is similar to the Climate Change Scam in many respects -- create a chaotic system of fear that can only be solved by the State.

I thought about fighting it and realized it was a lost cause. At best I might have nudged the leviathan but I don't believe I can change its direction. I am too old to waste any more time on it.
Fortunate to have good children who have good families. One of them is preparing to live near me. I live in a small community. The local store likes locally produced vegetables and food. We are developing a small farm on my property. I will give most of the money to my kids but I enjoy what I do and without debt don't require much additional income.

I almost never wear a rain coat. It is too cumbersome, and running works better for me.

Sometimes, if it is cold, and I'll be out a while, I'll wear one. Otherwise, no.

A law requiring raincoats is unconstitutional in my view, and therefore, not a law.

What better actions? What evidence of misleadings? Or are deniers just being reactionary?

I teach applied math at the high school level and I have similar stories. Except as a teacher I am insulated from the non-certified bias that so many show in this field. So many in education believe that those without the title of educator or some stupid letters attached to your name are troglodytes. I remember being treated that way when I was still working on my degrees, it is revolting. The smartest man that I have ever known dropped out of school in the 6th grade and as far as I am concerned. If you can't recognize intelligence then your to stupid to express an opinion, but I digress.

I still need the money and my Administration leaves me alone except for the requirement to wear this muzzle and constantly asking if I want the shot. If they make the shot a requirement, I will find another way to make a living, but as I am to young (and not in a financial position) to retire I wear this damn thing.

Nice catch, thanks! However, this looks like mafia types setting up a scam. I'm talking about people who don't want the vaccine getting false passports so they can function in a passport state.

I can appreciate losing ANY extra income during retirement. Are you legally prevented from talking about this in your locale? If not, I would get backing from the appreciative parents and go to your local newspaper or tv station......if there are ANY journalists in your area.

The first lesson when I see propaganda is that the subject is worth lying about to them. That helps narrow down what the truth is.

No, they didn't know and were never informed. I wasn't allowed to present my case, in fact when informed that I was about to be called in I was instructed not to contact anyone to find out what was going on or to influence what was thought of my actions.
I pointed out to the council that if I had not stopped the boy from hitting the girl we would still be in 'court' and I would be defending myself against the parents of the little girl for not doing something. I was in trouble either way with a group of people who operate out of fear of consequences of others instead of deciding what was the appropriate action.
I do miss the kids and when I see them around town with their parents the children come up to me and ask; "Ask me a Mr. Chad Question!" Some of them comment to their parents that I made the bad kids behave and they miss me.
It was a part time job to supplement my retirement but I did enjoy it when I was doing what I determined to be the right thing.

While somebody has to do it, I could neverwork any job that requires being responsible for a group of kids. You did exactly the right thing with the older "kid". Did the parents of the smaller girl have anything to say in your defense"

I think there is no need for either 1 or 2. I can get more effective results from other better understood actions at less risk. We have been purposely misled.

I had to laugh at the subject title, as it brought back a memory from my early military days. As a cadet in Summer officer camp, I took a flight on a decrepit C-123. It was originally a glider that was converted to have radial engines, with the result that the fragile glider body sounded like it was shaking apart in flight. We were supposed to be issued parachutes (which should have told me something), but since we didn't have enough, we were told to wear our plastic raincoats instead, which made no logical sense. I couldn't resist, asking the DI if we were supposed to pretend that the coats could be used like Flash Gordon's cape to float us down, or were we just wearing our own body bags. He didn't much like my question.

I'm not in the military now, so I would ignore such nonsense. Unfortunately, our glorious leaders, who are of a totalitarian mindset, would see nothing wrong in issuing such orders, and try to make it hard for those who didn't comply. The cost of enforcement would outweigh any benefit, so the demonstration of resistance would put a stop to it.

"It is like life itself.....a chance...damned if you do and damned if you don't."

I love this quote from Lord of the Rings: “It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to.”

This line from "The Princess Bride" also comes to mind: "Life is pain, Highness. Anyone who says otherwise is selling something."

Everyone learns something - even from propagandists. The real question is whether or not one recognizes any truth in the propaganda - even if it is simply the truth that what is being peddled is false.

No, I do 1) and 2) for me.
Are you going to kill yourself just because the government forbids suicide?

If you consent to being a serf, feel the vaccine is not harmful, and don't care that the individual liberties guaranteed in the Constitution are taken away by sociopath murdering traitors.

The bottom line is 1) wear a mask and 2) get vaccinated.
