The media is now ridiculing people who say this is a trap. It’s almost like they’re daring people to come and start crap. With the wrong provocation I can see The Democrats using it as justification for repealing the 2nd Amendment.

The office of United States Marshal was created by the First Congress. President George Washington signed the Judiciary Act into law on September 24, 1789.[7] The Act provided that a United States Marshal's primary function was to execute all lawful warrants issued to him under the authority of the United States. The law defined marshals as officers of the courts charged with assisting federal courts in their law-enforcement functions:
And be it further enacted, That a marshal shall be appointed in and for each district for a term of four years, but shall be removable from office at pleasure, whose duty it shall be to attend the district and circuit courts when sitting therein, and also the Supreme Court in the district in which that court shall sit. So from what I understand, Yes, The president can command the US marshals through the US Attorney General and Federal Court systems.
You think the ones they have deputized weren't vetted? Which orders will they obey?
As to whether they will do the right thing or for that matter any NG, Marines doing the right thing has yet to be seen or known.
But if no one will be following the law then why complicate things with Marshals...or am I being too logical for this day and age.

The MV-22 Osprey is the primary assault support aircraft for the U.S. Marine Corps. It was fielded to replace the CH-46 Sea Knight helicopter and has been deployed to support troops in combat since 2007.
The Osprey is unique in that it uses two engines positioned on fixed wing tips housed in nacelles that rotate to allow the MV-22 to land and take off vertically, but achieve much faster flight than a helicopter by tilting the nacelles forward while in flight in a configuration similar to a fixed-wing aircraft.

I suspect he was referring to Failure brought on by chance if not by one's own actions.
