Thanks Kate. That is interesting. More interesting is your life story ThanQ for sharing.
    From your biography.
People should be decent to each other (no wars). The world seeks to find the dynamic balance between the needs and rights of the many... and the rights and needs of the one. For happiness in life, one needs to "fill the unforgiving minute with 60 seconds' worth of distance run" (Kipling). The protection of the right to do so, and to what one has earned, should be the prime directive of government. Love wins!

I believe our constitution serves that purpose.
It’s a pleasure to read your contributions.

    Peace to you,
    Dan O

    Sorry for the spelling error.

This is the poem read at Ayn Rand's funeral. I hope you all knew that. Kipling (one p, not two) captured the wisdom of the ages, and never mind that it came from the era of peak British colonialism.

“Twisted by knaves and made a trap for fools”
Even Rudyard knew the leftist tactic of Twisting distorting and perverting reality.

Do believe me now an old dino read or heard those somewhat familiar words a long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far way in a world with more people (at least in this country)
yet to be as warped as they are now running things while an Ayn Rand I had yet to learn of was still alive predicting what was coming down the pike.

I've heard this used at Eagle Scout Court of Honors. It is poignant and beautiful.

I love this poem. It seems familiar, as if I heard it long ago as an adolescent before I understood it.

I had to look up the word "sinew".

It reminds me of a Buddhist book I read... and Don't Sweat the Small Stuff and The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.

The people is concise and poignant... at least to me.

I'm surprised I haven't heard this poem and am glad I saw it here.
