So much for the nation which pioneered and protected Free Speech. This website may slide under the radar for a time, but you can bet it won't last long if Joe Biden actually gets into office.

Free speech is a threat to hegemony, no doubt.

For a pointed example, I just finished reading The Gulag Archipelago. This is a personal account of someone who was an officer in the Red Army who expressed personal reservations about Stalin in a letter to a friend and for that was prosecuted for political insurrection. He detailed the entire process of not only himself, but the entire "organ" (as he called it) in great detail (over 600 pages of abuse, torture, abrogation of justice, inhumanity, etc.). I recommend it to all who think they know what socialism really is.

Maybe it's time I re-read both "The Gulag Archipelago" and "The Gulag Archipelago Two". I read them so long ago I'm forgetting many of the details.

Many things I'm seeing going on now in the USA were described in the Gulag books. Especially the reach of the legal system on behalf of the state or other institutions and developing thought crimes disguised as PC or identity politic constructs. Currently, you may not get a trip to the Gulag for having such "thought crimes" but you can lose your job, reputation, and your treasure.

This has been a read I've avoided. Let's just say I already see enough of what's happening. In the past few years it was 1984 and The Stones Cry Out. So much clarity that I feel warped. I'm very familiar with The Gulag Archipelago. My dad read it.

It is definitely sad that we are ignoring the open lessons of history. One of them can be seen right now in the EU's persecution of former Eastern Bloc nations like Hungary and Poland for refusing to go along with mask mandates. It wasn't that long ago (only one generation) that these nations were under the dreaded thumb of Soviet Socialist Russia with its persecution and elimination of those who rejected tyranny.

History has been hidden from the younger Americans intentionally by the deep state, and it started when the tax exempt foundations planned to take over how history is taught in this countries universities. See Norman Dodd’s interview.
The youth have been brainwashed that socialism and social justice is needed.

I recall watching that interview a couple of times. As I recall, it was G. Edward Griffin conducting the interview. Mr. Griffin is still alive and giving lectures. In fact, he hosted a Red Pill Expo on Jekyll Island last October (of this year).

Great .I have recommended it in many posts on the Gulch.
Mr. G. Edward Griffin has been a true historian. One that of course has been ignored and hidden away instead of hoisted to the podium. I am sure the deep state vermin don’t like his bright beacon.

Yep. That was a great post.

I think it's also interesting that they are taught to ignore anyone who actually grew up in a socialist nation or lived there. It's like they don't want anyone to see the wizard behind the curtain or something... [rolls eyes]

I hate when speech is restricted. It was obvious on Fox earlier this year, censorship was getting blogs knocked off. I complained, both online and to the site officials. It has improved. However, I also remember Clinton and Echelon listening to phone calls for key words to be looked at by FBI, which my pals and I would pepper our conversations with, to tie up the site. Then the anti white Obama got in, set up a WH site for your comments, which he got, daily, as he tried to set race against race from day one. They finally shut it down. Now, this time, we will be banned from real science, actaul proven science, in favor ofcontrolling us by lies about climate and the virus. That I cannot tolerate, it is ignorant and it is communistic. It cannot be allowed. Right of out 1984 or Brave New World.

Take my love, take my land,
Take me where I cannot stand.
      I don't care, I'm still free,
You can't take the sky from me.

This is one series I have to watch again every once in a while and then follow up with the movie "Serenity". The fools that cancelled it after the first season need a flogging or at least press their faces in dog poo.

I'll echo the dog turd treatment. It was a winning show in an age hungry for more sci-fi on TV. ;)

What I thought was hilarious - and rather innovative - is that all the actors had to learn to swear in Chinese. And yes, they are apparently Cantonese swear words of a rather base nature though some with knowledge of the language have debated whether they really translate well...

Also... Fun trivia fact: you can tell whom Nathan Fillion liked as he got them in on bit parts on "Castle." That included Gina Torres (Zoe), Adam Baldwin (Jane), Jewel Staite (Kaylee), and Summer Glau (River) but did not include Alan Tudyk (Wash) - who has arguably had the most successful career next to Fillion himself.

I've never seen "Castle", but Baldwin did well on "Chuck" and "The Last Ship". He can play fun and serious roles equally well. His role on "Chuck" was a lot like his role on "Firefly".

Being a Nerd (though not a Nerd-Herder) myself, I loved "Chuck!" One of my favorite scenes with Baldwin was the shooting range he had set up in the fireplace of his apartment that rotated in and out targets. At one point it rotates in President Reagan and Baldwin grins and salutes. The other one had to be Casey's car - the Lincoln Continental. ;)

Yeah, "Chuck" is in a category all by itself artfully combining sci-fi, comedy, drama, and a whole host of who-knows-what parading in and out!

Ha, yeah, the fireplace target and the car. I believe Casey's car was a 1985 Crown Victoria. I'm sure for Casey it was the police interceptor version, but they never said. Broke my heart and LMAO when they blew it up! The look on Casey's face was priceless. Kind of like the look he had when Chuck and Awesome had Ellie thinking he was some kind of perv and she grabs the wine bottle out of his hand and says "You've had enough of that" and he was clueless. I know they blew up a junkyard double, but holy smokes!

Reminds me of something I've been trying to teach my son who's now a teenager. "Don't ever say anything political on social media...ever." I ended up explaining this forum to him. It's the only place I ever share anything remotely political. The gremlins are out there looking for a sign of anything other than total compliance. My son learned that the hard way when, on his high school forum, he said something along the lines of, "I just hope whoever is elected they take care of the country." He was attacked for saying that. It was a great lesson for him. There are a lot of deranged people out there...a lot.

Have they started working on the Biden Harmonizer yet? Mr. Thompson was undoubtedly brighter than Joe Biden.

Can you imagine anything much more destructive than forgiving $1 TRILLION in student loan debt and adopting these far-left ideals? I can't. One can rebuild a bridge. It's much harder to build - or rebuild - personal morals.

What is really unsettling is the growing rhetoric form the Puppet Biden's camp of limiting free speech. AOC is calling for punishment for people in President Trumps administration and supporters. this whole scenario is coming right out Ayn Rand's writings and George Orwell's 1984. My fear is that next will be Fahrenheit 451 and Gun confiscation.
What really irks me that my wife like to watch Josh Gates Tonight on Discovery, we viewed his previous episode where he interviewed John Lithgow only to find out that towards the end of that conversation that Josh stated he was hoping that Biden will bring the politically divided country together. I don't want to watch that program anymore. He is totally clueless like so many California TV celebs.

    • The First Amendment will no longer be needed given what we will need to know will be provided by the big tech companies and Main Stream News Media.
