Like most liberals, his self described label, he holds a false dichotomy between social issues and economic issues, As I said in the Firefly thread, he thinks ANY limitations on people equate to oppression and thus businesses oppress people because they control money and products.

Ultimately, as it is said in the money speech, Whedon is working backwards. He is saying money is the measure of a person's life, not a tool by which he expresses himself.
