I Am Done - America Is Gone

"I was born at the end of Gen X and the beginning of the Millennial Generation, and grew up in a middle class town. Life was good. Our home was modest but birthdays and Christmas were always generous, we went on yearly vacations, had 2 cars, and there was enough money for me to take dance classes and art lessons and be in Girl Scouts.

My 1940s born Dad raised me to be patriotic and proud, to love the war bird airplanes of his era as much as he does, and to respect our flag and our country as a sacred thing. I grew up thinking that being an American was the greatest gift a person could have. I grew up thinking that our country was as strong, and honest and true as my Dad. I grew up thinking I was free.

As an adult, I have witnessed the world I grew up in fall to ruin. I have watched as our currency and our economy have been shamelessly corrupted beyond redemption. Since we’ve been married, my husband and I TWICE had our meager investment savings gutted by the market that we were told to invest in, now that pensions no longer exist and we working stiffs are on our own. We will be working until we die, because the Social Security we’ve been forced to pay into has also been robbed from under us.

I have watched as our elected officials enter Congress as ordinary folks and leaves as multi millionaires. I have watched my blue collar husband get up at an ungodly hour every day and come home with an aching back that we pray will hold out long enough to get him to old age in one piece. Outside of shoes, socks and underwear, almost everything my family wears was bought used. We’ve been on one vacation in 12 years.

We don’t have cell phones, or cable, or any sort of streaming services, just a landline and internet. We hardly ever eat out. Our house is 1400 square feet, no air conditioning. I cook from scratch and I can and I garden and I raise chickens for eggs and meat and I moonlight selling things on Etsy. Still it is barely enough to pay the bills that go up every year while service quality and the longevity of goods goes down. What I just described is the life you can live on 60K a year without going into debt.

At last calculation, when you consider all of the federal, state and local taxes plus registration and user fees, Medicare and SS payroll taxes, almost a third of what my family earns is stolen by the govt each year. What’s left doesn’t go far, just enough to cover the basics and save a little for when the wolf howls at the door.

I watched as my family’s health insurance was gutted and destroyed. Our private market insurance, which we had to have because my husband’s employer is too small to have a group plan, was made illegal. We were left with the option of either buying an Obamacare plan with unaffordable deductibles and insanely ridiculous out of pocket maxes, or paying the very gov’t that destroyed our healthcare a fine for not buying the gov’t mandated plan that we cannot afford. We now have short term insurance that isn’t really insurance at all, and I live in fear of one of us getting injured or sick with anything I can’t fix from the medicine cabinet.

I have watched as education, which was already sketchy when I was a kid, became an all out joke of wholly unmathematical math, gold stars for all, and self-loathing anti-Americanism. My family has taken an enormous financial hit as I stay home to home school our child. At least she’ll be able to do old-fashioned math well enough to see how much they are screwing her. A silver lining to every cloud, I guess.

I’ve sat by and held my tongue as I was called deplorable and a bitter clinger and told that I didn’t build that. I’ve been called a racist and a xenophobe and a chump and even an “ugly folk.” I’ve been told that I have privilege, and that I have inherent bias because of my skin color, and that my beloved husband and father are part of a horrible patriarchy. Not one goddamn bit of that is true, but if I dare say anything about it, it will be used as evidence of my racism and white fragility.

Raised to be a Republican, I held my nose and voted for Bush, the Texas-talking blue blood from Connecticut who lied us into 2 wars and gave us the unpatriotic Patriot Act. I voted for McCain, the sociopathic neocon songbird “hero” that torpedoed the attempt to kill the Obamacare that’s killing my family financially. I held it again and voted for Romney, the vulture capitalist skunk that masquerades as a Republican while slithering over to the Democrat camp as often as they’ll tolerate his oily, loathsome presence.

And I voted for Trump, who, if he did nothing else, at least gave a resounding Bronx cheer to the richly deserving smug hypocrites of DC. Thank you for that Mr. President, on behalf of all of us nobodies. God bless you for it.

And now I have watched as people who hate me and mine and call for our destruction blatantly and openly stole the election and then gaslighted us and told us that it was honest and fair. I am watching as the GOP does NOTHING about it. They’re probably relieved that upstart Trump is gone so they can get back to their real jobs of lining their pockets and running interference for their corporate masters. I am watching as the media, in a manner that would make Stalin blush, is silencing anyone who dares question the legitimacy of this farce they call democracy. I know, it’s a republic, but I am so tired of explaining that to people I might as well give in and join them in ignorance.

I will not vote again; they’ve made it abundantly clear that my voice doesn’t matter. Whatever irrational, suicidal lunacy the nanny states thinks is best is what I’ll get. What it decided I need is a geriatric pedophile who shouldn’t be charged with anything more rigorous than choosing between tapioca and rice pudding at the old folks home, and a casting couch skank who rails against racism while being a descendant of slave owners.

I’m free to dismember a baby in my womb and kill it because “my body my choice”, but God help me if I won’t cover my face with a germ laden Linus-worthy security blanket or refuse let them inject genetically altering chemicals into my body or my child’s. I can be doxed, fired, shunned and destroyed for daring to venture that there are only 2 genders as proven by DNA, but a disease with a 99+% survival rate for most humans is a deadly pandemic worth murdering an economy over. Because science. Idiocracy is real, and we are living it. Dr. Lexus would be an improvement over Fauci.

I am done. Don’t ask me to pledge to the flag, or salute the troops, or shoot fireworks on the 4th. It’s a sick, twisted, heartbreaking joke, this bloated, unrecognizable corpse of a republic that once was ours.

I am not alone. Not sure how things continue to function when millions of citizens no longer feel any loyalty to or from the society they live in.

I was raised to be a lady, and ladies don’t curse, but fuck these motherfuckers to hell and back for what they’ve done to me, and mine, and my country. All we Joe Blow Americans ever wanted was a little patch of land to raise a family, a job to pay the bills, and at least some illusion of freedom, and even that was too much for these human parasites. They want it all, mind, body and soul. Damn them. Damn them all."

Wow. Perfect but I will depart on the troops. Loyal to them to the core. It’s in my DNA. Remember they may be called on to risk their life by the same parasites we are discussing. But otherwise I couldn’t have said it better. I’m again going to ask anyone who will listen. We have to term limit these crooks.

Our military is in a bad situation. They will likely be called on by the left wing Communist Party USA aka CPUSA to remove weapons from citizens. I served from 1965 to 1970......BUT.........
If and when they come to my home and confiscate my weapons I will kill as many as I can before they get me. At 73 yrs old, I don't have much to lose. The people in the AMERICAN military have a decision to make

Me too at age 78. Army Artillery Vietnam 68-69, I only went for my country. Now I have doubts if I would do so again. The military draft will have to come back to keep it staffed anymore. A friend of mine just took a brief inventory of his ammo. He estimates he has some sixty three thousand rounds, but is waiting for an order to arrive. When they come for our guns here, they can have them, bullets first.

Similar story, with slight differences. I am 55 years old -- but I have no family (wife or children) and I have already accomplished more in the past five years than many men will accomplish in multiple life times. I am not bragging, just very satisfied with how much I have been able to get done and have a strong sense of identity and achievement. I think that we will see some visible signs before any one of us "gets the knock on the door" in terms of taking away 2A rights. Time to prepare, make a plan, and not be home when that knock shows up. As for me, I will be fighting for my life, while those that do the knocking are just doing their job ... they are acting on behalf of their paymaster. As for the guns, I have extras plus ammo for my known friends that are lacking in that department. I doubt that it will come to gun confiscation though; instead, we will get more of the same slow creeping Socialism ... so slow, in fact, that most of us will be dead of the effects of a long life before things get to the point of open revolution.

With regard to the medical coverage, look to see if there's a doctor who participates in Direct Primary Care (DPC) https://mapper.dpcfrontier.com/ . DPC is a kind of subscription with a doctor, no insurance involved, and it provides all your basic care at a set monthly subscription fee (no copay) that is substantially less than Obamacare. These doctors usually offer prescription medicines at their cost, which is also usually less than the price you pay after insurance under Obamacare.

The difference between us is that I'm from your father's generation, when we couldn't rely on the government for everything, and had to work things out for ourselves. Now that the government has declared it's the source of all good things, they have too much control. It's like Jefferson said, a government powerful enough to give you everything you need is powerful enough to take everything you have.

Giving up isn't in my blood. We aren't so far gone that there won't be resistance to the liars and cheats that want to take everything we have, and I intend to be part of that resistance. Robert Heinlein wrote a novel called "If This Keeps Happening . . ." that is about America becoming a totalitarian state,, which results in a revolution, led by an 81 year old military veteran, and it happens in 2025. It struck a chord with me, as I'll be 81 in 2025, and I'm a military veteran. See you then.

Also many private physicians have self pay rates that are not outrageous and much less than many insurances. It is hospital bills and medications where the cost comes in at a high level

So many people wrongly believe they could never manager their own healthcare expenses without an intermediary. It's so far from the truth. I wish they could do a pilot program in some random city where they eased restrictions and let pharmacies offer more medical care options, let people buy medicines without prescriptions, just a total laissez-faire approach. I think it would be shocking to people in my area. HMOs started here, and people who are very comfortable getting quotes on a new furnace or new kitchen say it's beyond them to buy medicine. They just haven't done it.

"set monthly subscription fee (no copay) that is substantially less than Obamacare"
A few years ago I was a on a high-deductible PPACA-compliant plan. The "negotiated rates" were horrible. I tried to work deals with the physicians, as I have in the past, but they said their contract with the insurance companies forbade them from doing deals outside of the negotiated rate. If, however, I had no insurance, they would be free to work with me. So I got my family on Christian Health Ministries (CHM) cost sharing program intended for Christians. We are atheists but are longstanding members of our Unitarian Universalist congregation, which has its origins in Christianity, so that made us eligible. CHM meets the PPACA requirements so we had no penalty. We did this for a year or two. It worked great. Most healthcare providers were happy to take cash and give us a good price that we were both happy with.

I took a job at a place with excellent insurance, and we use that now. I wouldn't mind, though, if they gave me the portion of the premium they contribute and I put it toward CHM. They invited members to send get-well cards to people who were sick or who lost someone. It personalized how my money was going to someone who is sick and they were giving to doctors in exchange for medical services. I sent one card a month. Unlike traditional health insurance, it didn't try to hide the value-for-value exchanges involved.

P.S., I'm confused by all the comments referencing God, Bible, prayer, etc. My understanding of objectivism is that it is implicitly non-religious. IMHO, if prayer worked then the evangelicals would've provided a landslide victory for Trump, right?

That's okay. We can never stop re-evaluating our own premises unless or until all the contradictions are gone. One would have to be all-knowing in the case of your "if-then" statement. Would a landslide victory for Trump have been the best outcome? Maybe. Maybe not.

Look at the monstrosity rearing its ugly head rejoicing in the apparent success of its fraud, dancing in the streets and mocking Trump supporters for supporting a loser who was an illegitimate president in the first place. Oblique or implied insults are no longer necessary. They believe they are back in power, and now we can see how they really act when they can say whatever they want to say. We are and have always been ugly Deplorables, and they are now happy to openly remind us of that.

Promises are already being made by the "winners" ordained by the media--from Biden's promises for a national mask mandate to Newsom already filling Harris's "vacant" seat. Things being said that can't be taken back by the Dems later. Some on the other side must now see the anti-American evil in their party in its growing fullness and puffed up arrogance. It is out in the open now, and it is showing us that justice and law and order must be restored, for the sake of every American.

Without this hopefully temporary fake win, the creature would have continued slithering around in the shadows, still considered imaginary by half the country, bringing us at least another four more years of hate and division and creeping socialism. I stand with anyone who loves the USA whether they are religious or not.

When we see the abomination that causes desolation standing where it does not belong, do we flee to the mountains or do we stand and fight? If seeing where they would take the USA doesn't motivate us to fight for justice, what will?

p.s. Welcome to Galt's Gulch online, Abbynormal!

Not when you have a sting operation going on to show the American People how corrupt they are. Seeing with your eyes the people on both sides will know. Biden didn't win the media cannot declare him a winner until all the ballots are count and that is the Law. Nothing is more important than Believing on God and praying it does work and faith is what we have.

I guess this isn't a site for free speech and I totally apologize from my comment and it will not happen again. I will keep my opinions and feelings to myself. Thank u for telling me I wrote something I shouldn't have.

None of it is remotely consistent with my reading of Ayn Rand. I see it as humanistic, as saying human reason and hard work is the only thing that gets things done. There is no evidence of gods.

I see it as a positive view of humankind, about people following their dreams by operating honestly, helping one another in mutual trades, never manipulative, arm-twisting, guilty-tripping, or by force or threats. I see it saying worrying about politics, people's stratagems to project an image for others is not only pointless but a corrosive form of dishonesty.

So in my view of it, we should ignore the day-to-day machinery of politics and eschew all memes, quips, and other artifice aimed at making people look bad or good. Instead we should be enjoying life, finding honest ways to serve one another in mutually beneficial trades. We should make cogent arguments against government force and central management. We should categorically reject almost all of President Trump's antics: the support for authoritarianism, the anti-intellectualism, politicization of science, the expansion of gov't spending and borrowing, but more than any of that the mean-spirited zero-sum view of human interactions. It is possible to reject all that without getting down in the political mud. We absolutely can disapprove of the Peter Keatings of the world who get their kicks off of reactions from others. This is true when it's Keating, in Trump-like style, trying to get reaction from the housekeeper by stepping on the floor he had cleaned or Jim Taggart living for adulation for being selfish, rejecting his wife if she wouldn't play the inferior diamond-in-the-rough role elevated by Jim's benevolence. The two modalities are actually similar.

The response is NOT to join their pathetic search for personal meaning in getting reactions from others. It's to live life for your own passions and to interact with others fairly, selfishly and respectfully. Most of human society in history didn't think fair and selfish went together, but the view of selfishness being bad is rooted in ancient views that should be abandoned.

This is all my humble opinion. My respect for people's right to be selfless and participate in President Trump's deplorable attention-seeking antics is absolute. People have every right to be jacka$$es.

So you won't hear me relying on prayer. I said no prayers for Biden. I donated money, went to his events, and encouraged people to vote for him. I'm thrilled he appears to have won, but it will have very little impact on my Objectivist-related issues. Change won't come from electing the right president. Even if there were a dream president promising to implement Objectivist policies, one person can't do it. It's about individuals choosing to live honest, selfish, reason-driven lives.

Wow, I do agree with most of what is written here but unlike the person above, I am not done. I am a military veteran who has had to utter many oaths of enlistment and I take them to heart. The words that affect me the most say the following, "I bear true faith and allegiance to support and defend the US Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic", There are many other words in the oath but I live by these words. I am 61 years young but will gladly put my life on the line to defeat any godless leftist liberals who defy the Republic. I know it has been modified many times but there are rules in place to make those changes, some are good, some are not good. We are not perfect by any standard but unlike many others, we try to learn from our mistakes and make things better. Are we there yet? Well, the jury is out depending on your point of view. The process has been hijacked by some well meaning politicians but it is only well meaning for the pocketbooks of those politicians. I can rant with the best of them and I am sorry if it irks you but I put up with all the other ones here. The one thing though is I am open for discussion with anybody, I did not say debate, I said discussion. However, I do see problems cropping up, they are already talking about lists and that has bad connotations going back to pre-WWII Germany. I don't know where we are heading but either way it is not looking good.

Thanks. I couldn't have said it better, except maybe added something about one of my pet peeves -- the whole parasitic administrative/welfare/deep state.

People are bipartisan angry now, with extremes in the opposing camps -- by design of course.
Silent majority doesn't necessarily mean sleeping majority...more like slow to act. Either way, poking a giant in the eye is risky. Considering a significant portion of the population is self-medicating, when emotions run high, sometimes bad things happen.

The major networks and social media corporations are major manipulators, conspiring with power mad politicians and foreign governments. Trump is the only one fighting for us.

The cultural decline is generational. It requires policy prescriptions based on a moral and virtuous people, otherwise freedom is lost. We were gifted that legacy within the Constitution. Let's make sure they abide by it.

A long time ago, in Philadelphia, a woman stopped Dr. Franklin in the street during the Constitutional Convention. She asked, “Dr. Franklin, what government have you given us?” He replied, “A Republic, if you can keep it” Now the statues we raised to the founders are pulled down and desecrated, broken in the streets where they walked. The craven and corrupt are elevated and the rot continues. The founders sought to create a New Rome. But Cato at the last on the shores of Africa knew then what we know now. The light will burn again.... but not now, not now.

Separately, I am done with QAnon. It was tinfoil hat crap nonsense all along, as might have been expected. It misled us. There was no smoking gun. There was no late breaking real issue (yes the Hunter crap, whatever). It lulled us into a false sense of optimism, when we should've been working our asses off marketing Trumps success against the media (oh, and screw the Ivory Tower Objectivists that felt so self-righteous berating Trump in public. We all thank you for supporting socialism...morons).

QAnon - is Q-nonsense. It should be dismissed before being read, just like the Watchtower, unless one wants entertainment.

I appreciate the kindness and sense of inclusion by the people, but couldn't really buy in (with my time & attention) or bring myself to follow it. I really genuinely mean no offense to anyone in saying this, but just for who I am (someone who thinks maybe TOO much), it didn't seem to be giving me much to do besides to get in alignment with others in an identified group to follow an unknown other's questions and clues, or much of tangible, verifiable, applicable value to my life in the real world.

I have my own questions and clues to follow. The little things that get through my own blinders and point the way through a tangible exhilerating rush of meaningful satisfaction & accomplishment whenever I make a difference in my own life &/or someone else's, or find a new greener pasture of new thoughts leading to new thoughts. "Trees grow on growing" I'll linger for awhile until the feed starts to become more scarce and the outer limitations of what's known & seen (& the progress that can be made there) is found, and then I move on to search for something new & green again.

A lot can be learned online, but it's really that rush that comes from satisfying my gut instincts that drive me (to figure out how to better fulfill my own potential) and they always seem to have something more waiting to be found just around the corner (though there are certainly some dark alleys to have to go down along the way), but they're more often found in the real world "enter actions" offline.

I'm preaching my sins more than my virtues in saying this because I too am severely tempted by and drawn to how much can be learned online (almost like Neo's training programs in the Matrix, like "Whoah! Now I know kung-fu?" "I'm going to learn Ubuntu?" "Plug me back in!"), but with the exception of little interactions like this, it's mostly a one-way exchange focusing on the "bio" and "psycho" at the expense of the "social". And unfortunately "real talk" & "meaningful interaction" seems to be very hard to find online these days (more likely to be opposed, discouraged, and de-platformed for it even). Even the format like this wall of text is confining and flawed, like trying to communicate through a scuffed up & blurry wall of bullet-proof glass.

I could perhaps be able to feel a sense of accomplishment in "picking a side" and identifying with a group (which would come with plenty of friends and an equal & opposing amount of enemies) if I did something like bust open an old thermometer and swallow the mercury, but it just seems silly and I'll walk my path alone if/when I have to for as long as I have to if this distance from "the norm" is the price of moving through time as a newer, hopefully more improved person every day. In this digital world especially, people might be screaming for others to conform, but in the real world interactions, body language, voice inflections, & looks in people's eyes, it's something very different that they seem to really be longing for. To be one's own very different and ACTUALLY "special"/unique self is in direct conflict with our culture's push to place more value in what others in a peer group think of you. Every perspective is flawed, but at least your own has a vested interest in making your life and world (as you see it) an increasingly better place, so that's the one I trust and run with.

"Light up the eyes, boys!" is a quote from the movie "Three Ninjas" that has been coming to mind a lot more as I actually see it happen in others and they can clearly see it too in me (keeping them on their toes by not staying put & solidifying into a more concrete and predictable persona). It's crazy and mind-blowing that you can actually see that mental switch turn off in some (glazed over look as brain says, "Not compatable with currently running operating system. Discard quickly!") and switched on in others (who might be posessed by a more child-like persona, myself included, all day whenever engaged in the more surface-level group chatter & jokes at work, but then so much more animated and even more mature than "normal" whenever fully engaged in a deeper & more real conversation about something that brings out a little more of their own true thought/feeling. To see that you may have actually made a real and lasting difference in another person's life is such a powerful feeling that I can see & understand how it might lead some to mistake it for some external God.

Q is not nonsense, everyone wants things to happen fast but in reality you need to have all the right cards in your hand. Yes it is taking 4 yrs to put an end to them but you have no idea how deep and how many there are. It not a few and you need the evidence. Trump would not tell all that is being done until all the American people see with there own eyes, you just can't tell them they need to see and this is the final show. He bated them and they took cheese. Now all of them from the Rothchilds to the Vatican and all of the rest of the puppets will go down.

        We will agree to disagree.

I think Q is an clever distraction, written like a fortune teller's story to appeal to all different people seeking relief from reality. Yet, it simply distracts people from working on a clear message that can move a larger group. People reading Q and hoping are wrapping themselves in a cocoon, not affecting others.

It appears like the QAnon thing could have been a clever left/dummycrat thing. It appears that "Q" assured us that it would be all ok. All the evidence would come out. It appears that even if we could get our hands around Q's neck and squeeze.......nothing would come out.

Thank you Freedomforall for such a well written testimony. Jeez, I can't help but agree with everything you said. I hope that changes, but that might be a miracle the way I'm feeling right now.

I can't take credit for writing it, but I do also agree with her point of view. If elections can be stolen, or alternatively if over half of the legal registered voters actually choose to be enslaved then voting is meaningless and I, too, will choose to reject the authority of such a government.

You arent alone. There are at least two of you. I dont trust the elections in the USA any more , and I will passively resist any further incursions of the government in my life. Going "galt" is really a good way to go in this situation. Resist giving any money to a corrupt government, or at least the minimum you need to stay out of jail.

I love this Rant, although in the '50's and '60's my father was a former Merchant Marine Chief Engineer running a marine and industrial machinery repair facility on Staten Island. Both my parents were independent voters. My brother and I enjoyed both summer and winter vacations with our parents. The schools we attended were new with teachers who taught and challenge us think. I worked part-time in restaurants while I was a senior in HS so I had my own money.
Work ethic was instilled in my brother and I to appreciate having a job and going to college. I wonder all today's parents and schools are teaching their children? Even, though I thought that my son would follow his parent teachings the Lefts propaganda both on-line and through social media has influence his world view point. I'm not giving up on this country myself nor the soldiers or veterans. What is unsettling the indoctrination by non-military influencers in the Pentagon. That are trying to change their personality against the citizens of the USA.
Now I'm not so sure that the USA can survive with splitting into separate republics.

    Well Said.

    We feel the same way...
No chance of getting ahead. Investments crushed.
The few that did okay are looking to be taxed at 40% by Mr. Biden...
    Thanks...

Pretty much why I stopped voting. I didn't quite let it get as bad for me...but I could see what was coming and decided to stop participating.

Thank you for sharing a lot of what I have been thinking since about March. I can't help but wonder if one of the purposes of the covid hysteria was exactly this. When 50% plus of voters are voting by mail, there is a huge opportunity for manipulation of the numbers and for votes to suddenly appear after election day.

No. Not done. Gone fishin' maybe. We survived the November of '64. We got thru '76 and '92 also. Somehow we pick up and move on. Onward to glory? Well Sancho, I'll tilt at a windmill or two just to keep sharp. .Yes, onward to glory we go!

I like this story, it rings true with good examples.
But, I cannot quote it in correspondence due to profanity, nor does it come from a name, proper or not, that suggests sufficient self control to convey important information.
People are angry, and are in a bad mood, rightly so.
Remember, feelings are valid, but if thrown at an audience you make no friends, make no converts, they will tell you to go to Canada.

We can't give up on America or our President. Everyone please pray and call out to God. He will hear our prayers and he will answer us. I will not give up on America 🇺🇸

I like your sentiment, but if (when) Biden/Harris gets sworn in I will take down the Stars & Stripes on my flagpole and either leave it bare or find something more fitting to put up (perhaps a Knights Templar flag with black stripe up or a Grand Union flag like the one flown by Washington at Valley Forge). I will not fly the flag of a Marxist regime even if it's my own country. If the regime changes the national flag I may return to flying the Stars & Stripes as a remembrance of the "Old Republic".

Fly your American flag. Additionally, fly your Gadsden flag, your dollar sign flag, or your μολών λαβέ flag if you choose.

If we enter the horror of having our flag officially replaced by something like the bloody CCCP or CCP flag, then fly your stars and stripes every chance you get. Let your friends and neighbors know who you are and who they have been and can be. Remember the end of our favorite book: "... he raised his hand, and over the desolate space he traced the sign of the dollar."

I don't think I could ditch the flag altogether. I will probably change it for my Bennington flag with the big 76 on it (protesting the 1620 project, which is, by the way, the year that Gov Bradford saved his colony from death by starvation by ditching socialism and recognizing Capitalism in the form of private property.). If the Dark Side prevails in this round, there will be a day when what is ours is ours again, and we once again live by the words of the Greatest of holies: Ee'dplebnista norkohn forkohn perfectunun.

I am not totally ditching the Stars and Stripes. I will take it down, fold it with care, and put it away for a better day as mentioned in my post. I gave two choices and will likely put up the Grand Union flown by George Washington at the very beginning of the worlds greatest Republic. It has the same 13 red/white stripes signifying the original 13 colonies, but the upper corner has the Union Jack. It has great historical significance and offers a good message.

The Knights Templar flag is a symmetrical two stripe black/white flag lengthwise with a red Templar cross overlaid on the center. It is my understanding when flown with the white stripe up it signifies we are at peace, brotherhood, and welcome; black stripe up signifies we are at war, troubled, and beware. I would rather fly the Templar flag black stripe up than the Stars and Stripes inverted.

I agree. Our President has more fight in him than anyone I know. But I also pray for him and for our country. (My "Greatest of holies" comment below is not meant to discount the Bible. It is a reference that may be caught by the nerds of about my age. We'll see.) Someday I may have time to do a post on the compatibility between Objectivism and God. The fact that we can employ reason without faith in the existence of God simply makes it a solid universal basis for virtues, but it doesn't prove that it wasn't granted to us by God, or a higher power. "His" answer is often a "revelation" that exposes one or more of our faulty premises, enhances the clarity of our reasoning, and gives us a momentary strength to act. When I do pray, which is not very often, it is not in resignation, it is in anticipation.

I am in complete agreement with everything you have said. But, the main thing is, these Godless people who are doing this will not prevail. My Christian heritage won't recognize them. Hang in there, we will get through this. N

Please don't generically blame godless people. I am godless. I also support the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the principles of the Declaration of Independence. I paid money in support of the campaigns of assorted Republican candidates. Twelve years ago, I ran for the US House against one of the Demshevik slimes who earlier this year was on the (phony) impeachment committee.
I am disgusted by the utter corruption of the Demorats, the fake media, the digital media censors, the vote counters, and the mindless fools who voted for evil. Neither I nor anyone sane ascribes a shred of morality or wisdom to
Corrupt Joe or Kamal-toe, the lying hack and mattress-back.
Believing in gods (or not) has nothing to do with being moral. What does is living the ideals of truth, honesty, fairness, and justice, My atheist heritage doesn't require me to believe in a Christ to despise the anti-Christs working to steal the election and destroy our country.

That is a powerful story and in some way or another many are going through the same thing. But remember everything happens for a reason. Trump besides Reagan worked for the people. I believe this has all happened so he can drain the swap. Things that you and I don't know fully is happening without our knowledge. Trump aloud them to do this so all the people from both sides know the truth about how crooked they are. Look if we tell them these Democrats are crooked the would scream and god knows what else they would do, thats why it had to shown to them. The only thing we have to believe in is God and The Lord Jesus. Everything that has been done and still doing will come out. Many people will be in shock but they will see. Trump will and is our President and that will not change. It is evil vs good, and good always wins. We win "We The People" WWG1WGA

As clearly stated in the Galt's Gulch Code of Conduct, please refrain from any further proselytizing.

I had to look the word up (proselytizing) you wrote it on another one, I now understand what you are saying. I am not trying to convert anyone!! It does not matter which god or religion you believe in, everyone believes in something of higher power all I was saying was just to have faith. I;m sorry if you took it wrong and it wont happen again.

As a born-again fundamentalist god-denier (on top of carbon, quantitative easing, virus-scam denying ) I see no prob with believers on the Gulch. Various make fine contributions and comments. There is and should not be a loyalty-to-Ayn test.

          Free speech-
-ok to say that nothing is more important than...
-claiming that you have a belief about..

          But
          - saying "as long as you believe in some religious doctrine...then.. " is proselytizing. There is an implied threat, if you do not believe then something bad. This is emotional blackmail.
To say 'the only thing we have is..' this is not just a belief but it is pushing.
Referring arguments to religion is not just free speech it is advocacy of religion.
To claim 'everyone believes in something . . ' is impertinent and insulting, it means you know what I think and I do not know what I think, or as bad, it is telling me what to think.
There is 'just to have faith' This is the kind of statement at the center of religion and its propagation. Just having faith is a fast track to disaster.
There is so much else wrong with that post!
Then to say- "I;m sorry if you took it wrong" is again telling me that I do not know what I think.
Well I think I took it right - I saw religion being pushed.

Good always wins? Perhaps - if you're playing the long, long, long game.

The argument here seems to be that we don't/can't know the truth or detail, so we'll make a case to justify what we wish to be true.
