This columnist writes:
"So my starting point is always this: we are all ultimately clueless. Given this one simple truth, how then do we live a meaningful life?"

It is tiresome seeing people equate not being omniscient with impotence.

    Mr Beem says his "most profound perception of life is that no one is in possession of the truth." And yet the name of his weekly column is "The Universal Notebook"
    Why do I have the feeling that he was not being purposefully ironic?
