Americans in 2020 are waiting to see the true results of several close swing states, but at least we are not undergoing another edition of the political machining and corrupt bargaining of 1824.

As VP he swore to preserve and protect the United States from all enemies at home and abroad. It has been proven he conspired with Hunter to front with China and Ukraine to guide brokering a multi-million dollar deal which would yield not only the money but also apply political pressure which had a high probability of damaging America. He should be arrested either before or after the election is certified for conspiracy to harm our country. It's called treason.(by Fred)

Me too, though I watched a niece get married in the chapel of "The Hermitage," the now a museum plantation home of Andrew Jackson at Old Hickory, Tennessee, where my deceased brother, Tom, used to live.
Tom would tell a stranger he is from Nashville due to its close vicinity as me dino of Pleasant Grove, Alabama, will still say I'm from Birmingham.
I do know Jackson hated paper money. Whoever put his face on twenty dollar bills must have been laughing at him.

As messed up as this one was, I think Hayes' is even worse and more comparable. It is my go-to for people who claim this one would be/is the worst.

That election was crazy - mostly the post-election day stuff. Try to read those accounts without thinking about today, I dare you. ;)

IMO the premature ending of Reconstruction is the main reason the Republican Party "lost" the support of black Americans.

On a funny related note: this (2020) may be the first messed-up election where Florida wasn't a factor on the messed-up side. It has this long tradition of "oh, the election is messed up? What did Florida do this time?" ;)
