I'm not a doctor, but I got this one right... Vitamin D

So one of the things governments did to "combat" COVID-19 was lock people in their houses. Many continue to persecute those engaging in outdoor activities. Yet the evidence is growing every day that a simple 15-minute walk in the sun everyday is as good as an apple at keeping the COVID at bay.

The ICU doctor treating my dad with COVID...First things she put him on? Vitamin D. Also did the Sorrento antiviral.

I've been taking Vitamin D for many years and haven't had a sniffle in 15 years now.

You nailed it. Especially those old people locked up, some wearing masks all day. Masks research shows let the virus in! Rioters wear hoodies, hood up, no Vit. D going to ge them! Actaully, this senior was out in the yard when I was supposed to be inside, soaking up sun, plantint grees. Then, no mask, for 4 months, met other maskless car people with my husband for outdoor coffee. Some days, I would leave my cell home, and take the Corvette for a spin, not to be locked up. Now, ComradeDdeWine has made it criminal to go in anywhere without a maks, counterproductive. He wants us to be China, I want us to be Sweden. I have not been tested. I have not been down. If someone fears me, when I am outside, let them mask up and seek false security. I take, Vit. D, C, zinc and stay active breathing maskless every minute I can.

Just don't wear sunblock on that walk - or spend 20x as much time on that walk. It takes very little SPF to all but completely block the wavelength you need. IIRC somewhere around SPF 8-10 will block 95% of the UVB that is needed.

Incidentally, since 20*15m is 5 hours and sunblock needs to be applied every 2 hours, if you do paste on the SPF, take extra. ;) Oh and some water.

I have seen that as well -- one property owner peppers their yard with D signs... along with a smattering of the virtue-signaling "Hate Not Spoken Here" signs.

Good for you. Education happens one voter at a time.

I'm currently working on my nephew and his wife. They came unhinged at my mother-in-law when she posted something on Facebook. I've been educating them on their ignorance about Democrats. Still waiting to hear back what they thought when I showed them Kamala Harris voted against the Born Alive bill...

I"m a little further east, Nine Mile Falls (near Spokane). Arson is definitely a part of Soros's agenda, whatever it takes, no coincidence. I recently mentioned Soros to Jewish friend of mine who's always been on the left. She said, "Never heard of him". I told her to look him up and then we can talk, said goodbye, and haven't heard back except for one email, stating "I never knew that".

Culp big here in Eastern WA, signs all over. There is one exit out the market parking lot, across the street it is loaded (about 20) with nothing but "D" signs, no "R" signs at all, not even a "T" sign. Obviously one property owner on the "L(eft)".

I'm southeast of you suffering from the smoke. We have clear days and I still don't need sunglasses. Sad.

Thanks for the scoop -- I reside on the Eastern Side of the Cascades. My favorite store, Yokes Fresh Market, began to require the masks due to state and county health official 'guidelines.' And so, I don my huge gas mask and a mountain helmet covered in foil. I have gotten a few laughs from other customers as well as people giving me the thumbs up. On my next visit, I will go in the front door sans-muzzle and see what happens. Maybe I will resort to the Walmart pick-up option. The anti-science, political-posturing muzzle-mandate infuriates me.

In other news, Inslee will be up against Culp for the Governor's seat. If I recall, there were five or more Republicans on the primary ticket ... but their total vote count matched or just edged out Inslee's count. Lots of Culp signs abound -- including those seen on my few trips to the West Side. Hope and Change!

We are in the same boat on the east side of the Cascade range here in the TriCities . . . no wind or sunlight for at least the past four days. It is as though we are in a weather vortex. Visibility is down to 3/4 mile and has remained as such for days. The sun appears infrequently as an orange disc in the sky. When I was at the Grand Canyon, Monday Sept 7th, we had similar weather conditions. Two days later, the wind picked up and we experienced cool and cloudy days.

I was reading that possibly six of the Oregon fires were started by arsonists. Shortly after the Portland riots (and fires) stopped, we have reports of arson in the forests. Coincidence?

The whole "Stay Home, Stay Safe" bilge that was doled out was met with my response of "bunk!" Right after the lockdowns in Washington State, around March 20th, the local fitness centers closed. I took to increasing my time outdoors with running and exposure to fresh air and sunshine ... and, of course, no muzzle. The anti-science, political-posturing muzzle-mandate infuriates me.

If you stay out of Moscow or Boise, Idaho's still hard red. Utah outside of SLC as well. Lived in Montana for seven years and they're a very libertarian bunch - they don't mind social programs and love gambling, just don't threaten to take away their guns! Nevada's also not bad - if you recognize that Las Vegas controls the State just like Portland controls Oregon.

Damn, and I thought I might like to move to Colorado, to get out from under Inslee's big thumb. Is there any place left?

The insane thing is that there is no evidence that wearing a mask has any effect on transmission of viruses whatsoever. The CDC finally admitted that in ten separate studies on flu transmission, a mask had no noticeable effect in any of them regardless who was wearing it. People have been brainwashed by this - and I count some of my own family.

This my friend is happening all over the state of Colorado its been turned upside down with the current administration who is ONLY concerned of certain lives and control is is main goal. You would not believe those that comment on the local papers in the "Springs" think he is a can't write those letters for he is not...he is a puppet of the left. And just last week this puppet extended the mask requirement for another month much will be changed one way or the other on November 4 or about.

I'd be curious where this is happening. I have not worn a mask to date. Our local grocer had no problem with it, I was exempt, until our governor, Inslee, changed some rules. One liberal employee took it upon herself to try to chastise me, "No Mask, No Service!!: and walked away from me, twice. Her rude handling made me blow up, I went to the manager and asked if the policy changed. He told me just wear a mask while getting my coffee, then take it off. I told him I couldn't do that and walk out. Later my wife went to do some shopping and the meat dept assistant manager asked her what was wrong because of my wife's unusual demeanor. My wife, practically in tears, told her, "This morning my husband was treated like coming home from Vietnam". That's all it took, that employee told my wife that her manager will not even buy coffee when that person is serving. The next morning the store manager begged me to come back and no mask would be required, they still allowed exemptions. The server will not look me in the eye, but serves me anyway. She hates all 20 or so of us because everyone wears Trump paraphernalia, hats or shirts, and about half of them carry, some even carry openly. This is a podunk little town in the process of growing, very few liberals, but they are all alike where ever they are.

I am not a doctor and dont really understand viruses. That said, I have made sure I get my Vitamin D supplement and my Vitamin D level is about 60+. I have stayed away from subways, most elevators, nightclubs, public pool parties, and if I feel sick like with a cold or flu, I get immediate rest. I do go to grocery stores, gas stations, outside activities like hiking, I wear a mask maybe half the time if in a crowed place. Call it uneducated corona protection, but at least so far, i have not contracted the virus and I have continued on with my life pretty much as I did before

Or maybe not. I've received more than 500 of them in last six weeks but they appear to be out of stock. Check back often though. They seem to be, by far, the most reliable source and get new stock earlier than what they publish.

My mother was also trying to get canning jars and encountering similar delays. The US used to can at home all over, but since most food production has moved away from the home to commercial businesses, few people even know how to can anymore. Think about how dependent that makes people on short-term access to a ready food supply...
