The beauty of a bird feeder

I bought a bird feeder. I hung it
on my back porch and filled it
with seed. What a beauty of
a bird feeder it was, as I filled it
lovingly with seed.
Within a week we had hundreds of birds
taking advantage of the
continuous flow of free and
easily accessible food.

But then the birds started
building nests in the boards
of the patio, above the table,
and next to the barbecue.

Then came the shit. It was
everywhere: on the patio tile,
the chairs, the table ...
everywhere!

Then some of the birds
turned mean. They would
dive bomb me and try to
peck me even though I had
fed them out of my own
pocket.

And others birds were
boisterous and loud. They
sat on the feeder and
squawked and screamed at
all hours of the day and night
and demanded that I fill it
when it got low on food.

After a while, I couldn't even
sit on my own back porch
anymore. So I took down the
bird feeder and in three days
the birds were gone. I cleaned
up their mess and took down
the many nests they had built
all over the patio.

Soon, the back yard was like
it used to be ..... quiet, serene....
and no one demanding their
rights to a free meal.

Now let's see......
Our government gives out
free food, subsidized housing,
free medical care and free
education, and allows anyone
born here to be an automatic
citizen.

Then the illegals came by the
tens of thousands. Suddenly
our taxes went up to pay for
free services; small apartments
are housing 5 families; you
have to wait 6 hours to be seen
by an emergency room doctor;
Your child's second grade class is
behind other schools because
over half the class doesn't speak
English.

Corn Flakes now come in a
bilingual box; I have to
'press one ' to hear my bank
talk to me in English, and
people waving flags other
than ”ours” are
squawking and screaming
in the streets, demanding
more rights and free liberties.

Just my opinion, but maybe
it's time for the government
to take down the bird feeder.
If you agree, pass it on; if not,
just continue cleaning up the shit!

I have concerns about this bird feeder:

-Does it have local gov planning permission
-is it in accordance with the area development plan
-the birds are noisy, is there compliance with all noise regulations
-are the species of birds classified as noxious pests
-bird poo clearly contravenes health and welfare and sewage disposal by-laws
-are only refugee birds allowed in, we do not want local birds preventing others from getting help needed
-dive-bombing birds endanger our children, a safety warden must be appointed to ensure helmets, safety glasses and masks are worn
    .. etc.
    ----

Apart from that, well done Dob in showing how mindless altruism harms everybody.

No bird feeders if I can help it. But someone is always putting one up in my backyard even though I tell them not to.The hell of it is, they bill me for the unwanted feeder.

Not Just the illegals but the Liberals, progressives, commie's and marxist have found their way into our national bird feeders too...way before the border jumpers.

I had the fortune of getting together with a friend and business owner in So Minneapolis this past Friday.
The family run hardware store was attacked during the rioting and pillaging. Neighbors came out in armed force to defend and were successful with only this show of protection. I wouldn't be surprised if the bird feeder gets seriously drained over there in the next few years.

We need more of these neighbor armed forces. They are what's ultimately gonna save us, I think.

The viability of our work and business is a direct extension of our contemporary mortality.
The law of the land, because it lacks an objective philosophy to under-pin Life Rights, puts defenders at a legal disadvantage.
Can you imagine if The US Constitution had, "We hold these truths to be...." as the interpretive body, how different the situation might be?

          I can

Me dino has two hummingbird feeders that hang about 15 feet away from each other. For "feed" all you have to do is boil sugar in water until you can no longer see the sugar and wait for the solution to cool.
Hummingbirds are amazing little creatures to watch. It's fun to watch them chase each other away from the feeders. Yesterday I had for the first time four of them in number briefly zipping all over the place.
At first I had trouble with wasps taking over the feeders and chasing away the hummingbirds. With a little PC research I discovered wasps hate peppermint spray. Bought liquid peppermint in a spray bottle from Amazon. Works perfectly!
No squawks or bird calls. I've yet to hear hummingbirds make a sound and I've yet to find any poop on my porch.

This is why I do not keep pets. I shall not enslave except for the specific purpose of self continuity...food.

This made me laugh. The Audobon Society (sp) would love my place. The birds make nests in my hedges...gotta be careful trimming. Yesterday a couple of Blue Jays attacked a Hawk who came too close. My birdfeeders are well into the yard, not near the porches.

I have a lot of natural food source right out my door. Deer in the yard every day. Squirrel, rabbit, fox, ground hog, cranes....and my lovely crows....playing tag with this little hawk who thought he was tough. I politicized the hawk as a Democrat outside of his apartment.

Those hawks make me nervous. I have a 6 pound Chiwawa (didn't mispell). We don't really know her breed but she is very loveable. She hates cats and possums. Fond of squirrels. She collapsed in my driveway and I kept her though I know from whence she came! She had been cruelly abused. I'd removed her from the street several times so I felt her owner wouldn't care. She had even lost her bark but she got it back!

            Yes, be wary.
Had a patron at Ren Fest in MN let her unleashed white mini poodle roam during the Falconry event. the crowd renamed the pup Tampon. I know....reeeeally baaad.

My sister walks her little aggressor near a gator pond north of Tampa regularly. I suggested Mack be renamed as well....I got THE LOOK!

You mentioned 'Gators'. When we were at Ft. Polk, LA there was an 'Alligator Lake'. A lady threw her tiny Poodle in and it didn't come out. Some youngsters had their baby in a wooden slatted playpen right at the edge of the lake and I suggested if they loved that baby they should move the playpen back to the middle of the park. There were warning signs everywhere!

Curious about your thoughts on that. What brings you to think of pets as enslaved, especially if you might, for example, be liberating one from a bad situation like a shelter or worse (some shelters are terrible.)

I don’t have any pets either, since I want to be free to come and go, but I hadn’t thought of them as being enslaved, if I did have one.

An animal, including humans, learn from the challenges of "natural" environment.
Pets do not become all they can be as self-sufficient living organisms. Working animals earn a capitalistic exchange of value for value in pest abatement or protections.
I have yet to see a farm cat or dog with separation anxiety. I've lived with working horses...they are very much more even tempered than their play-purposed opposites.

An animal looking through the bars or clear shield of glass not able to go do what it's instinct requires....no different than the bars or glass shields of belief that keep humans from achieving......in essence.

OK, just checking out your thoughts about that. Thank you! Editing to add: very similar to why I won't purchase or accept cut flowers.

I am profoundly grateful for this input.
Reverence for life. Not to sacrifice for vane purpose.
This idea cascades through my developing authorship. Your input brings more clarity to the concept.
I'm going to have to spend a few days working through the permutations. Some are biological philosophical representations....perhaps all are.

My little black Pug named Sam lived to be 17 years old. He is buried at a place called Oakwind with some of his friends. There is a darling marble statue with dogs and cats playing around it.

You can't take down the bird feeder. PETA says those Birds have just as many rights as humans. Bird Lives Matter! There are too many politicians ~on both sides~ who buy the bird's votes by supplying crumbs with your appropriated tax money. If you're anti-BIRD you're a fascist racist pig. You're certifiably (under their rules) insane because you don't toe the Party Line, therefore your opinion doesn't count. Apologise now and hand over the loot. Kneel down, so your face is at zipper height.
This is the crux of the problem. Solutions?

While looking at my bird feeders here's what I see: all the little birds do make a mess, then the Doves land on the tray feeders like some plum dinosaurs and try to take up residence, they all scatter when the birds in blue (Scrub-Jays) show up and the one I have named Noisey announces himself to make sure he can eat and patrol in peace. As I'm writing this Noisey just showed up and scattered the riff-raff.
By analogy, I wish our men & women in Blue were given that respect and fear by the human riff-raff.
