First link: WOW!, Always admired Eric's playing and That must have been George's Son playing acoustic. The first comment got to me: Eric is on earth looking after George's son and George is in heaven looking after Eric's son.
I am so glad you tapped that link. Out of everyone I was hoping you would get to enjoy it. What an amazing rendition there is like five drummers and Clapton’s guitar playing is out of this world.
John's "Wheels", full group "you.re Gonna Lose That Girl." Did you know John renounced "Imagine" after he came to the US and became a fan of Reagan? He once said he wished he had not written it.
Well I am a cool lady. But I am about to attack the city council. They are trying to 'gentrify' (sp) our town with permits for everything. They think they can tell us which plants to put in our yards. If you remove a tree you must replace it. Hah! I took out 17 trash trees from my yard and didn't replace one!
Now that's cool...wonder if I could get "Ole Grampa" clock at work to play the Beetles instead of: Gong, Gong, Gong...laughing, I enjoy the gongs but the place needs MUSIC!
There are so many to pick from for many different reasons. I’ve recently rediscovered “Working Class Hero” by Lennon, and today it has a whole new meaning. Possibly Lennon was ahead of his time relating the politics of Britain two generations before socialism became prevalent on our shores. Hands down, the best line, from Double Fantasy, is “Life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans.” But the best Beatle song(s) is the medley from Abbey Road. With the early "I saw her standing there" a close second.
Here is a different version https://youtu.be/7dzE5qSbn0k Let me tell you how it will be There's one for you, nineteen for me 'Cause I'm the taxman Yeah, I'm the taxman Should five percent appear too small Be thankful I don't take it all 'Cause I'm the taxman Yeah, I'm the taxman I'll tax the street (If you try to sit, sit) I'll tax your seat (If you get too cold, cold) I'll tax the heat (If you take a walk, walk) I'll tax your feet (Taxman) 'Cause I'm the taxman Yeah, I'm the taxman Don't ask me what I want it for (Ha ha, Mr. Wilson) If you don't want to pay some more (Ha ha, Mr. Heath) 'Cause I'm the taxman Yeah, I'm the taxman Now my advice for those who die (Taxman) Declare the pennies on your eyes (Taxman) 'Cause I'm the taxman Yeah, I'm the taxman And you're working for no one but me (Taxman)
Eenie, meeniee, minee--never mind. Me dino really loves the last half of "Hey, Jude" when The Beatles are really getting down. What's done in that last Spaghetti Western song is very amusing.
I never did like the Beatles. If I had time to listen, I might like some of their early stuff, before they got all complex and deeeep and grew their hair out and apparently stopped bathing and dipped into Eastern mysticism started smoking dope. On the surface they repel me.
EDIT- I do like some of what they did after the split up. I will listen to anything Paul/Wings recorded, as part of a 70's mix.
It is not my intention to steal the Thunder of the Beatles but here is another group that we listened to also during those times. I just read this piece on PowerLine. It talks about how these two groups temporarily brought England out of their 50s doldrums. (something I never read about before) But this is about the music.
Speaking of Gerry and the Pacemakers, I met one of the early members on a cruise ship about eight years ago. He was performing nightly and we started hanging out. I can't remember his name unfortunately.
Got to Get You Into My Life: "I was alone, I took a ride, I didn't know what I would find there. Another road where maybe I could see another kind of mind there."
After what I see on the news lately, seeing "another kind of mind" is most welcome. Rational thinking seems to be rapidly becoming extinct! That's why I like the Gulch - a small refuge from the insanity. Rock on, Gulchers!
Prefer the classical mostly, Bach, Rachmaninoff, etc. For modern, when I was young; Moody Blues. I do like blues but not jazz, jazz is too unorganized. Someone needs to pass a law and bring me to the norm I guess.
He is very old now, but in his younger days he was quite a hit in England. I have a lot of his cd’s and enjoy listening to them. Again, thanks for the video.
Over the years while attending auctions and estate sales I became a collector of vinyl records. I had a little over 8000 albums. This takes a toll on ANY open space in my home. The last year or two I have sold about half of them. I love the 50's/60's that include the Beatles. I still have many of their albums. While partaking some of mother natures best, the music can take you to days of future past. Hey Jude is my fave
I think it is past time for us to elect another lady to the City Council. Since 1974 there have only been 4 and in this Century none. You will hear more from me in April. I am working on some lovely young ladies to become members of the Council.
There are places I'll remember All my life, though some have changed Some forever, not for better Some have gone, and some remain All these places had their moments With lovers and friends, I still can recall Some are dead, and some are living In my life, I've loved them all

Let me tell you how it will be
There's one for you, nineteen for me
'Cause I'm the taxman
Yeah, I'm the taxman
Should five percent appear too small
Be thankful I don't take it all
'Cause I'm the taxman
Yeah, I'm the taxman
I'll tax the street
(If you try to sit, sit)
I'll tax your seat
(If you get too cold, cold)
I'll tax the heat
(If you take a walk, walk)
I'll tax your feet
(Taxman)
'Cause I'm the taxman
Yeah, I'm the taxman
Don't ask me what I want it for
(Ha ha, Mr. Wilson)
If you don't want to pay some more
(Ha ha, Mr. Heath)
'Cause I'm the taxman
Yeah, I'm the taxman
Now my advice for those who die
(Taxman)
Declare the pennies on your eyes
(Taxman)
'Cause I'm the taxman
Yeah, I'm the taxman
And you're working for no one but me
(Taxman)

I also enjoyed the Moody Blues.
