Teachers Openly Fret That Parents Might Hear Them Brainwashing Children, Call Parents ‘Dangerous’
In one of the creepiest yet most revealing Twitter threads ever to be posted on the platform, a teacher recently fretted out loud that virtual classes might allow parents to hear him brainwashing their kids. Matthew R. Kay, an educator and author of a book on “how to lead meaningful race conversations in the classroom,” worried that “conservative parents” would be able to interfere with the “messy work” of indoctrinating children into critical race theory, gender theory, and other left-wing dogmas.

I don't disagree. It should be about learning.
"why not encourage that as kids(?)"
A little thing called maturity and responsibility - neither of which are present in the vast majority of under-20-year-olds.
A large part of maturing is coming to realize that there is a lot more to life than just instant gratification. IMHO, a large part of what is so wrong with the millennial generation is that they have been allowed to only choose the things they like. Very few have actually had to do anything of significant difficulty. Many millennials can't even look off in the distance long enough to see that mountain in the distance to climb. As a result, many are petulant whiners with unrealistic expectations that everyone else should cater to their whims. Very few are willing to go out and do the hard work necessary to succeed on their own merits. They don't realize just how much they have bought into the "you didn't build that" of Barack Obama.
It isn't the destination that makes the journey memorable, but the struggles along the way. No one celebrates someone who drives 26.2 miles to the end of a marathon.

In high school I had to take latin and french and americal history and english literature. Basically worthless information in my life as it turned out 50 years later. I was bored silly in public high school. Had to go to classes or get in various kinds of trouble from government and/or parents. I wasted years of that stuff. I learned more useful stuff from working in my own basement shop and visiting the neighbor across the street.

Maybe this will help combat this bull crap.
I am doing some of their online lectures, myself.
Not sure they will take on the online market as aggressively as possible though.
My wife teaches nursing in college, and I see no reason why she really needs more than a few other people to completely serve the needs of her students. I could easily do the same in engineering,
It is time for open market education!
I have found that the reason most kids don't like certain topics is far less about the kid than it is about the way in which the material is presented. That is predominantly a "teaching" function where the good teachers are those who engage the kids and help them learn the material in a way which works for that child. I think one of the flaws in current public schools is a failure to separate kids out according to how they learn and teaching them commensurately. While I think its valuable to have kids of the same ages learning together (because they are also learning social cues, etc.) I would love to see them separated based on their learning styles for maximum effectiveness.
To the contrary, now and type of doctrine that does not follow the Communist/Socialist propaganda is not allowed. Virtue signaling and the idiotic "Cancel" culture are now the "Hitler Brownshirts" masquerading as the educational elite and the supposedly, educated students that couldn't even pass a 1900 8th grade exam to get you into highschool. Truth be told! However they can cite you chapter and verse about just about every pop scientific, crackpot theory. God help us all!
Unfortunately, In American, it only takes a light rinse in order to convince good people to support stupid and corrupt things. Simple truth!
