My apologies to Scott and the Gulch members.
I would like to be clear. I alone am responsible for my action and I thank Scott for my reinstatement. This apology is under NO circumstances a requirement to be reinstated.
I broke the boards rule of civil behavior.
I am thankful for my friends here and their support of me. I will try not to lose my temper in the future and behave in a more civil manner.
I choose education as category because I hope to learn from my mistake.

I recall reading that St Patrick was born in slavery.
This whole issue of slavery, now on or just below daily headlines, is far more complex than the current slogans suggests. It appears to be quite normal in history, so normal that any group would be owning some of the same or any other group, and slaves could have slaves.
I would be surprised if it did not occur in every ethnicity and religion, except maybe Buddhism? It is hard to define when working conditions were so inferior to today's, due to lower technology. The British, at least ship owners, were major beneficiaries in the 18 and 19C, but then the British were the first to outlaw it. Abolition would have started with the Enlightenment, the original liberals, William Willberforce being the most famous mover, religions were split, non-conformists like the Quakers were strong against, others strong to retain.
Cheers.
You've have always been a humbled value creator which is why we all went to bat for you...it just ain't the Gulch without you.
Thank you, Nick, for making the calls to Scott.
