“I don’t mean to be frank or abrasive, but at this point, we are going to do what we feel is best for him along with the state, and this is what we decided.”

There he is, gang, Dr. Floyd Ferris.

It is interesting and telling that you posted that to Government and not to Politics (where I think it belongs). The case is of ‘triage’ writ small and emotingly.

    Healthcare is not free.

Milady Wife, octogenarian, and I septuagenarian each have Do Not Resuscitate / Do Not Intubate orders.

I would say this is not a case of triage, but the point is "ALL BLACK LIVES MATTER". How many others were treated the same way, why was there no protests, no riots for HIS life? This is the hypocrisy and the fallacy of any propaganda war, you eventually reach the put up or shut up point. This is illustrated in many events of the last 2 months, notably many children (black) killed by black criminals. Yet not a word. In this case, his waife said:

As the recording shows, they agreed that Michael should not be intubated, but Melissa still wanted Michael to be treated aggressively. The doctor insisted aggressive treatment wouldn’t “help him improve” and “right now, his quality of life . . . he doesn’t have much of one.”

Melissa was taken aback: “What do you mean?” she asked. “Because he’s paralyzed with a brain injury, he doesn’t have quality of life?”

    “Correct,” the doctor flatly replied.

Pressed further by Melissa, who admirably kept her cool, the doctor admitted he’d had three patients survive who were in Michael’s situation but claimed her husband’s case “doesn’t fit those three.”

Three other patients got treatment. Maybe someone is trying to raise the death score to match their requirements?
