The Reason Why Liberals Think The Way They Do In One Paragraph

I may have already posted this, but I am so bad at the use of a computer that I'm not sure. So, in any case, I'll try again. If two of these appear you can attribute it to my vast computer ignorance.

When I was 14 I read "the Fountainhead." Up ntil then, I thought I was insane because I didn't seem to think like anyone else including my parents, and relatives. But after reading the book and seeing the film, I realized, It wasn't me who was nuts. When "Atlas Shrugged" came out and I bought a soft cover copy I came closer to understanding the liberal mindset. But my title didn't promise you my Odyssey, but understanding liberals in one paragraph. My son and I published comic books or a class of them that are now called "Graphic Novels" or in our case, biographies. We met a cartoonist who was just too damn self-confident, and independent, totally self possessed and self sufficient. All the other cartoonists hated him. It was then I started to understand and formulated the following paragraph:

Independent people were a grave danger to the system. Civil order was not sustainable in a siciety populated by rugged individualists. The dependency of the people was the source of the state's power, and if the state didn't have enormous power, progress could not be achieved or peace sustained in the streets.

And there you have it. If you truly believe in the above, it is easy to see why you'd fight tooth and nail to keep it going But, as any Objectivist knows, that is the complete opposite of the truth. And so, any time the tenets of that paragraph appears, you know where evil lurks, and which side to take in order to oppose it

Your reason is exactly why I fight to keep it but will shrug in a heartbeat if I find a way. I wish I'd discovered Ayn Rand before I was 50. Once I did, I realized what I was doing wrong my entire life. Living for some else, and hating it.

In a way, discovering A.R.very young is almost as bad as discovering her very old. Even though I read her polemics and everything I could find that she wrote, I often failed to apply them. Eventually, as I did better and better in life I was able to apply her to my life and even influenced a few others.

Yeah, I'm not sure I would have been smart enough to understand her when I was under 30. Once I learned of her at 50 I realized that I was already living my life similar to her values. I just was hesitant based on all I'd been taught. Realized I was not so strange after all.

Me dino discovered Ayn Rand during 2013 when I was 66. My values were similar too and they became more enlightened by Rand's philosophy. I'll not be dumping religious beliefs I've held since my late twenties, though.

I like your reasoning, but I think your paragraph is targeted towards the elite liberal, the liberal that want to be a dictator scumbag. More important why do the uneducated and under informed turn to this pollical model. I don’t think its power or peace, it has to do with the topic of Atlas Shrugged, they want free stuff. They want to be taken care of, they want security and they are willing to delegate this to the government. The liberal elites have done a multi-generational job on our country, first the take control of the news organization to control the narrative then they take control of the school system to cease education of our youth about our constitution. With this in mind, I think the average liberal thought process is simply:

I want my government to provide for me, I want free stuff, I do not want to work.

An uneducated populous is much easier to control then an educated populous. I think its that simple, which is sad…

Hmmm. I didn't think I was "targeting"anyone in particular, except, possibly a reply. It is interesting to me how a sentence or a paragraph of Rand's hits various persons in various ways. Often, I have noticed that a certain truth which is put down by her in that clear and rational way hits one like a bucket of ice water, and wakes persons up in different ways, but almost always with the same result.

Gee, and I thought it was because they are retarded parasitical humanoids using only half their brain and very poorly at that.
They know not civil order...that's why today's order is uncivil.

I like the paragraph though...it's true...but my job is to answer the Why are they so screwed up.
I could not answer that question as eloquently as you. Laughing...if I could, it wouldn't be worth writing a second book on the subject.
