Molyneux tweeted that YouTube "just suspended the largest philosophy conversation the world has ever known."

Many libertarian-leaning thinkers oppose such an active level of censorship on a platform with 'monopolistic' reach.

There's something deeply disturbing about near-monopoly platforms deplatforming users with no due process or transparency. YouTube controls more than 70% of the online video sharing market. Its parent Google controls over 85% of desktop search. This damages democracy.

Wow! Is it possible for a non-government dictatorship to exist?

Should the Bill of Rights only apply to restrictions
placed against governmental intrusions on Individual Rights?

Or should they be extended to crony capitalists as well?

Nothing like being protected from free speech and our First Amendment rights.
YouTube should change its name of its platform to Big Brother Controls Your Tube.
On second thought, I've been reading of late about cowardly CEOs firing employees for expressing conservative opinions either orally of with words and pictures on such things as T-shirts.
So if it's really about fear of being called racists or of having their headquarters burned down by rioters, maybe the administrators of YouTube should change the name to Chicken Coop Tube.
Just plain Yellow Cur Kennel would work for me.

This ban is deeply disturbing on many levels.
Especially in a deeply formative election year where people will be looking for better answers to the headlines that the MSM deliberately wordsmiths to avoid reading their lousy and biased reporting.
As a veteran student/teacher in the liberty movement for 44 years, all roads lead back to collectivists as the core problem!
The myriad, well-funded, collectivist/globalist organizations have been cooperating/conspiring in all the logical ways to further erode natural human rights.
WE are being systematically attacked! This is NOT haphazard, it is by design and is them reacting simply to the market forces of competition! Which collectivists cannot stand!!!
Their MSM channels are losing their grip on their audiences. MSM print journals are all but dinosaurs and attack dogs on anyone that dares to educate outside their propaganda box.
Yes! It's bad news... but there's a silver lining in all of it! This will backfire on them in ways that will essentially destroy them. Thank god!
Parler seems to be an alternative to Facebook. We need to find the most free and user friendly SMP that won't restrict from the top, but allow the user to ban those they don't anything to do with.
If Parler or are not the best, who is???

If they are going to censor, then it should be known that they censor and they should admit it. That means that they are a publisher of content, and should be subject to everything that other publishers have to deal with. Let us assume that everything on youtube is regulated by the high priest of content and is approved by that high priest.

So I can be prevented from collecting funds from willing people by VISA and Paypal as Gab has been?

Reddit has blocked users from posting about Gab, too, just as Reddit has now stopped Trump supporters from posting in their favorite area (removed for hate speech this week.)
Apple and Google won't allow Gab in their app stores either unless they agree to toe the line and block conservative "hate speech" as defined by leftists on the left coast
This is just one example of what happens when someone creates a place that allows free speech online. Bankers and big tech do not want any free speech that disagrees with their narrative.

This is a blatant conspiracy to rig the 2020 election and to bring back a deep state tool to the office of president.

Yes, this is a blatant conspiracy. It sure seems that the globalists in their high places of wealth and political dominance (think CFR and George Soros & Michael Bloomberg for starters).
Any discussion of the world's problems without a constant checking with the membership roster of the CFR is a fools errand and essentially worthless. Why? Because the real power agents, "the dots" if you wish, are all there, present and accounted for.
Whether we are examining the past with the collectivist revolutionaries like the Rockefellers, HW "NWO" Bush, or Brzezinski and other dead conspirators, the problems they created when they were alive are being added to by those of their ilk who are still alive.
It is a war and THEY mean BUSINESS!
They even have their members in the Trump administration still. Some CFR members like Anthony Scaramucci came and went but why on Earth hasn't the Deputy Secretary of State, Stephen E. Biegun, a member of the CFR not been removed and replaced with a real American?
There are many others too! Trump's transition team, a list of names that I have yet to get, was either influenced from the outside by them or had a number of CFR agents on that team.
WE must be aware that the Trump administration has, at best, been INFILTRATED with close to 100 members of the CFR. Want names? Ask.

"That government should step in and start controlling it?" No, government should now step out and stop protecting it. That way it would lose its near monopoly status. The free market competition would control it.

First, you MUST realize that this is hard to do.
Second, these early movers were GIVEN Patents and Protections (Check out Leader Technology. They created a LOT of the tech, submitted patents, the US GOV TOOK them, said NO. And gave them to IBM to release to the public Domain, etc).

It's easy to stand back, without a CLUE as to how these companies got what they got. And say "Start your own".

And as FreedomForAll points out... Then VISA can cancel you, GoFundMe can cancel you, etc. etc. etc.

Right now, we are facing a HUGE Election. And the TECH companies are putting their thumbs on the scale. That is NOT a CARRIER, which is the very protection they are getting!

They shadow ban messages, and PUSH other messages, and HIDE BEHIND the Carrier rules (not responsible for content)...

In this case, it is EXACTLY the Govts job to ensure the playing field is level!
