New Yellow Times (NYT) Fires Head of Editorial Page for Publishing A Conservative Opinion

Cotton's Op-Ed caused a schism within the Times, with 'woke' younger staffers insisting that Cotton's divergent opinion had no place on the platform, and older employees defending the decision to publish.

Times publisher A.G. Sulzburger said in a statement "James is a journalist of enormous talent and integrity who believes deeply in the mission of The Times. He oversaw a significant transformation of the Opinion department, which broadened the range of voices we publish and pushed us into new formats like video, graphics and audio. Iā€™m grateful for his many contributions."

In short, publish a divergent opinion at an outlet run by leftists and lose your job. And to think, last year Bennet was under consideration to succeed Dean Baquet as the Times' executive editor.

Who cares really. I fired NYT a long time ago, along with CNN and a bunch of others. They can say what they want, and if people believe what they say, its on THEM to suffer the consequences.

It's sad too that the consequences of this George Floyd happenstance will result in nothing accomplished, nothing prevented, nothing learned, nothing but more misery, hardship, and destruction for everyone, and not just property but also relationships. Only the truth could bring about a real change, but human beings are too ignorant and bullheaded to understand the results their own agenda and actions. Black youth will use Floyd to set an example for themselves, even after they find out what really precipitated everyone's actions before and after the incident. Floyd, Travon, and most of the others like them that stirred the "news" into a frenzy do not really represent the average black man, no more than the cop that took Floyd's his life represents white men or cops. And the MSM just perpetuates it by publishing nonsensical and negative opinion, not the facts.

Black people had pretty much achieved a level of equality in terms of how people thought about them, UNTIL Obama. He stirred racial hatred and its worse now for blacks.

Cotton's letter was 100% right-on. People have a right to defend themselves AND their property. The Founding Fathers believed strongly in property rights, as evidenced by the 4th and 5th Amendments. A later generation extended those rights to the State and local levels, via the 14th Amendment. The 2nd Amendment provides the means to defend ourselves from tyranny, violent crime, or insurrection.

Take a knee and repeat after me. Ye shall march lockstep with those who art the epitome of liberal free speech tolerance or ye shall be
forever excommunicated to dwell exiled to a basket full of deplorable smelly Walmart shoppers. Obey. Resistance is futile.

If I live long enough (it's always iffy with a heart condition) I will hold a big party the day I hear the NY Commie Rag is bankrupt. If you happen to pick up a copy (I wouldn't waste the money to buy one) note their advertisers, then avoid them like the plague. Tell your friends about it. Heck, call the advertisers and tell them that, in due conscience, you can't support any business that deals with NYT.

With all the disgusting greed and graft going on today, and the fake, censored, and outright lying news that the MSM puts out today, there is only one thing the people can do. Even the left should not tolerate it, but they do, they have become complicit, so the greed and graft and political persuasion and bias will continue. The best we can do is work on geting everyone we know to drop thier subscriptions and ignore anything they publish on the web. The NYT just needs some competition, someone to know them out of business, some to report the facts and truth. It used to be the truth cannot be denied, today it can, everyone's doing it. It's sickening to me. I can relate to years ago when a child of my own just couldn't see the light and got himself into serious trouble, there was little I could do about it, but persistence finally paid off. Today I am proud of him.

If the publisher actually stood by the glowing statement he gave concerning the Op-Ed editor he would not have been fired. The so-called 'woke' journalists are really somnambulists blindingly regurgitating the liberal indoctrination drivel embedded in their brains by the hijacked school system. Usually when I read an editorial in the local paper that I find skewed then look at the source it's the NYT, Washington Post, or one of that ilk, always subjective, that's supposed to be the purpose of such opinion pieces, but rarely showing any depth of examining all facets of a subject before rendering an opinion. Unfortunately, the news that was once 'fit to print' must now fit the editorial biases of mindless lemmings. I once gave up doing the NYT crossword puzzles published in the local paper but restarted because they were the most challenging but lately they seem to off in some sort of 'woke' ether!

I'm not surprised by this at all. NY Pravda has to purge anyone with an anti Soviet thought.

Before you knock Pravda, read Stanislav Mishin's 4/27/2009 article, in Pravda, on the dangers of the US's slide into Communism. That would never have been printed there 30 years ago. NY Times is the world's official Commie Rag now.

Thanks for the update, but my excuse is I'm an old guy and Pravda & Tass were the names of the old Soviet Union mouthpieces I happen to always remember. Oh wait, I recall a publication here in the US named "Soviet Life" that could make a gulag camp look like a weekend pleasure jaunt to the mountains. Later I will see if I can find Mishin's article.

Thanks. I was trying to remember their news service 'Tass'. Yeah, they were the worst kind of commie drivel. I enjoy listening to Radio Havana, laughing at them and wondering if anyone else is getting how illogical their propaganda is. I was surprised at the openness that allowed Mishkin's article though, in a different climate twenty years after the Soviet era. Not like the Times or the Post...

My favorite Soviet era spewing mouthpiece was a guy by the name of Vladimir Posner, who was a frequently invited guest on the old "Nightline" with Ted Koppel. A real clown show as a Baghdad Bob before there was a Baghdad Bob. My theory he hasn't actually gone away but now dresses in drag and wears a black face and changed his name to Donna Brazile.

I remember the name, for some reason but otherwise have no recollection of him. A couple of hospital stays have left my brain in a mush. I'll look him up. Radio Havana is still on, around 6 Mhz shortwave. Best music on the world. As Jimmy Buffet said, 50 years of communist oppression haven't destroyed the spirit of those people. But their news shows are hilarious. I was listening to one, one night, where they were extolling how fantastic their hospitals and doctors were; the best in the world. They ended, within five minutes, lambasting the US for not providing critically needed medical supplies, which is why the Cuban people couldn't get good medical treatment. What a joke! I wish I had a transcript of that one.

Maybe I'll bump up the priority on getting a shortwave just so I can tune in to the entertainment. I was going to say so I can keep my commie-blather-propaganda skills sharp, but I have CNN, MSNBC, NYT, WaPo, The Economist, The Atlantic, and a host of other American sources to do that. Even my once beloved Scientific American, which I no longer subscribe to, has become a left wing shill. Whatever.

I have to keep checking my premises to make sure "it isn't me". That is, so many seem to be in lockstep in what is being published and broadcast I think from time to time I must have missed something. Nope. I'm OK and the fellows here in the Gulch are OK, but there sure is a lot of fog out there.

The shortwave was, for decades, a good idea, as you could hear what's going on in the world without the usual ABC/NBC/CBS/CNN spin. I have an early-generation Icom R-75, arguably one of the 3 or 4 best ever made. Sadly, most of the big stations - BBC, Deutsche Welle, Radio Australia *albeit with their own spins), have stopped transmitting to North America. The Voice of America is gone unless you're in the Mideast. They all assume you're watching TV now. On shortwave, most of what you hear now is in Spanish or Chinese. Chinese stations seem to have blossomed in the past 10 years. Wonder why?

My son is having family issues because he is conservative and his wife and her family are liberal. He won't argue with them anymore, instead he will keep posting conservative information with the hopes they will eventually start to figure it out. I hope they will. I don't think they will until it's way too late. They would not be able to read that excellent article by Sen. Cotton without tagging him as racist. Sad, very sad...

He should get a copy of Robert Ringer's (1977!) Restoring the American Dream, and the Atlas Shrugged movies, then laugh his butt off, in their presence, every time something comes true.
