    I did a bit of research on something I had heard a few years ago and couldn't quite believe. It turns out it's true. There is scientist, Yoshihiro Kawaoka at the University of Wisconsin, who has spent the last decade or so working on the Virus for the 1918 influenza.

    He's managed to recreate it and modify it so that it gets around the immune systems better and is much more virulent that the original.

    He also took H5N1 which has a mortality rate of 50% but can only be transmitted from birds to humans and modified it so that it could be transmitted from humans to humans.

    And for some reason the NIH keeps funding this guy! Google his name and you'll get lots of hits over the years. Here's one:

      Now you are on to something. To me the reason is simple why he Kawaoka keeps getting funded the answer is pure evil. Thanks for the link.

      The NIH should not be trusted. I presented some data to them once and I thought I wasn't going to get out alive...they were not happy, and extremely unprofessional. Their proposals at the time were really a chimp-fisted effort.

      Also, a few months ago I saw evidence of a Chinese researcher publishing a white paper on the coronavirus a little over a decade ago. They were specifically working to insert HIV. It was chilling to read. Can't believe they went public. Not sure that paper can be found now.

      I think we should just eradicate all labs like this, one way or another. To hell with China. They either stop this nonsense or we stop dealing with them economically. I would suggest that we stop buying from them quietly and without fanfare, and without ur government's crowing about it

      Yes the failed 1979 vaccine, based on the 1918 Norovirus, I did not know I was allergic to eggs, took the worthless vaccine, nad my brain swelled, horrible. Then when HqN1 hit, I got it, no protection from the earlier vaccie, no ability to take the new vaccine. This time, I just took a bunch of vitamins, went shoppting, spent time in yard with fresh air,no mask (they are incubators for any virus which passed through them). Just do not see why US colleges continue to allow Chinese in such programs, and then catch them usually at the last minute trying to take formulas back to China, to use against the world. .

      Are they trying to make the virus great again, or looking for ways to fight it? If NIH is funding it then it's likely that the Russians and Chinese are doing it, too.

    There's no doubt in my mind that the Chinese engineered this virus. The question which still remains is whether or not the release was intentional. The response was clearly intentional and a complete cover-up attempt with no responsibility taken for the resulting global release. The part which makes me think this was an intentional release is that the release happened just prior to Chinese New Year, which multiplies the global infection vectors by many orders of magnitude. It's all just too convenient.

      esp on .. was it an intentional release?....
      the response, as you say, does appear to fit in.
      Around Wuhan the response may have been effective and certainly callous.
      We do not yet know what is happening in other parts of China. Data does not make sense. Are they really clear? If so, just fortuitous, or more likely an element of planning of some kind is indicated.

      ~~it's me dino's theory for the odds being there that the release of the virus was accidental; but because commies are commies, I'll bet citizens there are still being fed the swill that it's all the USA's fault.         The CDC had a half million to spend on the same research, in China. Tuck Carlson says the figure for US investment in those labs was closer to $3.5 million. That would be our oligarchs, and deep state types. One wonders if one of those investors was Bill Gates, who would love to drum up business for his vaccine company, while depopulating the world.

    There are two "lab source" scenarios that are being discussed that sometimes blend together.

    The first is that virology research at the lab escaped into the population through infection of the researchers or, alternatively inappropriate disposal of test animals.

    The second is that genetic engineering deliberately created a more dangerous virus.

    The second scenario is obviously more serious and may amount to a charge of biological warfare. From evidence I've seen, the first is more likely. This subject heading "lab created" implies the second, but the article implies the first.

      The Gateway.. article makes a strong claim that the Wuhan lab was engaged in scenario 1 and 2.
      Question, can creation of a dangerous virus be legit - not for aggressive warfare?

      There is a Scenario 3.
      As in 1) and 2) a research lab works on and studies viruses, it makes a dangerous one to study.
      The need for stringent precautions must have been foreseen.
      Then, somehow, it gets out. (That is my opinion).
      Question, deliberate release or accident?

      Well I don't know but I have read about the following which may add to knowledge-

      1962 Okinawa. time of Cuban missile crisis.
      Captain received the order to launch missiles.
      But hesitated as a DEFCON 2 alert had not been received.
      Very close call.

      1986. Russian nuclear plant, Chernobyl.
      Inadequate training, poor staff behavior, one error after another.
      Can argue about fatalities and injuries but very serious.

      2007. UK. foot-and-mouth virus released, leaky pipe.
      Not a danger to humans but very serious risk to economy as farm animals killed.

      Enough of the "proof". The chinese will never admit anything or even allow independent analysis. I say these actions on the part of the chinese should be taken as an admission they they caused the coronavirus, PERIOD.

          I have to say that in this age of deceit and hiding information, people have no choice but to make up their minds based on the imperfect information they have, and in this case its going to cost china a LOT in terms of what people think of them and want to deal with them.

            I am no longer going to buy anything from China unless I absolutely have to. This is a real problem because there are so many common items that ONLY come from China these days. Even less common items are made in China. Well known American company name - made in China! Well known German company name - made in China! Etc. etc. etc.

            I'm even reading food labels to avoid anything produced or processed in China and I'm surprised at what I find here and there. (For example... Big print on front: Pacific Alaskan Salmon Fillets, fine print (really fine print) on back or side: Processed in China).

            Edit add: I'm in desperate need for a USB port isolator to eliminate some nasty audio hum whenever I plug my mixer USB into my computer. I can't find a single one NOT made in China!

            We've been getting screwed for decades. I'm hoping by the time Trump gets done a lot of that will change.

    I read somewhere that there was a WHO research lab in the same building as the Wuhan bio-weapons facility supposedly less that 300 yards from the "wet market" (I can't find the source now, please someone help verify). This suggests more sinister collaboration between the WHO and the Communists. What would have happened, theoretically, though, if someone in WHO had found out about it and did a pre-emptive release, before the Chinese could complete a vaccine (that would protect them, at everyone else's expense)? Perhaps exactly what we have now.

    Its time to stop treating china as a friend. The CCP is just evil, and perhaps the worst evil in the world today. At a minimum, they released this engineered virus into the world, most likely to destroy western economies.

    We need to stop funding the chinese, slowly and deliberately. The cost to us will be an increase in prices for the goods made here, caused primarily by our stupid government's printing of money, crreating the inflation that has been hidden by buying stuff cheaply from china.

    This discussion reminds me of the television series "The Last Ship" had the premise of an out of control lab created virus that killed huge swath of the human population on Earth. CCP in China actually rule the country and they would love to see our economy destroyed. This virus outbreak seems to coincide right after the US and China trade agreement. I also, agree that our own Oligarchs benefited from the spread of this virus. I would hope that an investigation into to the origins of the pandemic and tie all the strings of information together so the people of the USA would know how it all happened.
