After reading jbrenner's post on oil, how about-
These celebrity philanthropists and billionaires buy a few megatons of oil and burn it?
This would put back much needed CO2 into the atmosphere. It will not give any increase in temperature of course but it will enhance plant growth.
The poor around the globe who are close to the earth would benefit from better yielding crops and cheaper food. No downside.

Americans could give preference to buying Texas crude with resultant help to the local economy and wages.

I heard about this. I think it's fairly mind-blowing. Yes...promote, perform for, pay a "General" running a government/medical organization that bends the truth, encourages government force and cowtows to special interests only. Can't wrap my head around that...
