    Collecting dead bodies is now on a bounty system, similar to how bodies were collected in Europe during the plague. (The Black Death, 14th century). Those turning up to hospitals and clinics with covid-19 symptoms are sent away. Claims of improvement and having it under control are fantasy.

    The Chicoms are pathological liars
    nasty, aggressive, and a threat to civilization

    President Xi ...has kicked a couple of own goals
    1. * suppress privately owned business activity in favor of state-owned companies_
    2. _delay the news of the coronavirus until after the trade deal was signed with the United States__

    Looks like under the prev regime there was market reform, China was developing into a somewhat efficient fascist type state. This did not suit Xi who did not want any source of competitive power - money- so full on back to communism, even worse for individual freedom, and much worse for the economy.
    David Archibald does not suggest the virus was created and deliberately released, but it was the suppression of the news about the cases that proved to be a global disaster not excluding, especially, China.

    The result-
    China's ability to threaten its neighbors will be much weakened
    There is a good case for nominating the coronavirus for the Nobel Peace Prize
    To eliminate China from crucial supply chains, other governments may need to do little, China's manufacturing has taken a big hit.

      There must be strong leadership to reduce dependence on Chinese goods, in particular goods that have national security concerns. Rebuilding manufacturing in the US will require a wide reduction in government meddling and interference in business and against individual rights. I am not optimistic that this will be done. Too many brainwashed, willing lemmings.

        A good and obvious universal solution.

        If David Armstrong is right, that China, well President Xi, has a scored a dramatic own goal against his nation's productive capacity, doing the above could suffice. Not much different from what Trump is now doing.
        You will place an order with a Chinese company but they cannot supply, you will have to look elsewhere.

        On top of that, I agree that recognition that some products have strategic value may need government intervention to preserve a level of domestic capability,
        (Maybe this is a change in my thinking from a year ago?)
        Good management in a company takes great care about buying a critical component from a single supplier, and having just one big customer. Should government do the same with import and export controls?

    SARS was the pilot run.

    The Chinese govt learned all it needed to know about the mechanics of the spread, mortality rate and coverage measures.

    COVID-19 is the real thing and the juggernaut of communist apparatus will make sure China will accomplish its goal via spreading it.
