I am in the Pittsburgh area and I wrote to Cinemark Theaters to see if they would be showing AS3 Who is John Galt?. This is the response I received.
Thank you for your email. At this time, all we know is that the film is planned for a limited release on Sept 12th , this could mean 3 theatres or 100 theatres throughout the US. As is typical for most films, we won’t know more until the week of release, possibly the week prior to release.

Regards,

Yes, where we have the most ineffective, useless, trough eating government you can find. Our govenor was elected by 2 counties, and the rest of the state went for the other guy (who was not a better choice though). This time we have a decent Republican Dennis Richardson, running, who at least understands the money is not theirs to spend as they wish. But not one theater?? Disgusting...

Sounds like a little interstate commerce may be in your future. Either that or you will be waiting for your DVD...

Yes, indeed. Except the state to the North is Dope smoking Washington, the 2nd worse case for voter fraud in the US (behind Illinois I think), and California to the south. We are indeed deserving of the name "Left Coast". But excellent response!

Yep, that's Washington, all right. At least we have some decent theaters, though I don't know when or if AS3 will be showing there.
Seemed like a no-brainer to me, but then, so did that gubernatorial election that went terribly wrong.

Actually, for being the cloned liberal state of mind that Wa is, you have several theaters. I noticed a lot are in reach of the military bases up there, wonder if there is a connection...

After I saw this list I decided to e-mail Cinemark. None of the theaters close to me have committed yet. I wanted to put a request in.

My closest is Dallas, about 75 miles away. Guess I'll make it a night out with the family in town. Dinner at La Madeleine, movie. Or versa vice.

You are closer than me. My closest theater is in Lubbock, TX which is about 95 miles from here. Second is Albuquerque, NM at about 216 miles.

You in TX or NM? That stretch from Clayton to Raton is sure pretty. In summer. Wouldn't give two bits during the winter.

NM, but down a little from Clayton, Clovis is where I am. Follow 60 down from Amarillo and 84 up from Lubbock. I am 6 miles from the junction, where 70 cuts south out of Clovis.

Know exactly where it is. Cannon AFB is (or at least, was) there. I don't know any more as I haven't kept up with the BRACs lately. My ex went to nursing school in Clovis while I was stationed at Holloman.

Cannon still here,Special Ops base now and Melrose bombing range now a training area. It was on BRAC but the bigwigs, both city and state worked and pleaded and got it to stay open. Now spending tons of money modernizing it and expanding as SWOPS are the new prize baby.

I am guessing a lot more theaters will show the movie. These are just the ones that are confirmed. I was hoping to see one close on the list already.

Looks like all of the Illinois theaters are in Chicago area.

Come on Atlas. A lot of us don't live in that cess pool. How about Peoria, IL? The area has a population of close to a half million people. Surely there's enough of us waiting to see it without being forced to drive 175 miles?

The other choice is St Louis - really? I have zero desire to go there. Have you seen the news lately. And my home is exactly midpoint on a line from Chicago to St Louis!

And BTW, Chicago is the HOME of most of the moochers in this state.

              What? No theatres in Ferguson?

Sorry, couldn't resist. I understand if I get many thumbs-down over that remark.

We talk about looters on the gulch, these are what real looters look like. It's not as much about justice it, about opertunity to get something for nothing. Very sad to spoil the chance for real dialog.

I guess I'll just be forced to wait until the DVD comes out if these are the only choices. I can't make the drive up there and a quick check just showed that all the Chicago theaters are posted as "Criminal Protection Zones", otherwise known as so called "Gun Free Zones" where concealed carry is against the law, but where there are no armed guards to keep criminals out.

Few may know the steep felonious penalties that await a legally licensed concealed carrier who gets caught walking past that little sign. But a criminal can walk past it and if they get caught they will face a misnomer. In effect it's just a hand slap for them.

Stepping in a criminal's "target rich environment", like a posted theater, is not a place we'll go and take our families. I take the protection of my family very seriously and consider a GFZ sign to just mean that it's a business that doesn't care about our safety. So we refuse to give them our hard earned dollars. A GFZ means no money from us.

It should also be noted that in Chicago there are over 17,000 people with a CC License. These people tend to be producers since the process to get the license is not cheap, costing over $1,000. The majority of us have taken the pledge to not support businesses that oppose our 2nd Amendment rights and see us as the problem with the high murder rate in this state.

I'd gladly pay $500 for a pre- released version for mine and my husband's own private viewing only. And I would take the oath upon my life that's all it would be used for.

Limited release? I don't get it. After all the planning,
filming, editing, etc. just a limited release? AS I and II showed in two theatres in the Clovis - Fresno Area. I'll have to check them out.

Hope that changes Susanne. The response from Cinemark was disappointing. I was hoping they would have a better idea by now how many of their theaters would show it. The one I went to see AS2 in was bought by Cinemark. I hope they don't have a political axe to grind but I know they didn't show Dinesh D'Souzas America.
