While I'd love to see every American company tell their Chinese suppliers that their services are no longer desired, it isn't going to happen even if phased in if not enforced by governmental fiat. There are too many - especially big tech companies - who are in bed with the Chinese.

I was thinking of a general non governmental boycott which was a grass roots kind of thing- generated by a complete disdain of chinese goods because of what their government did.

A phased in boycott is needed. It will take time to replace the source of manufactured goods, and even then a black market will exist for the lower priced Chinese goods in some areas.

Usually a boycott is included in sanctions.

I would also propose that China be removed from any position on boards in the UN (yes, I would prefer to dump the UN entirely) and voiding all Chinese debt holdings of US currency.

All we can really do is boycott china as an evil empire. They will never admit anything and sanctions dont work on a communist regime

A rather rare mechanism (by which HIV works) for viral infection into a cell is by fusion with the cell membrane. COVID-19 also works that way.

Dr Luc Montagnier says "man made", and the release by the lab in Wuhan was an accident.
There is no serious evidence that the release was deliberate but the accident itself is a horror story, and on top of that there is the cover-up, obfuscation, falsehood.
If after the discovery of the accident there had been honest reporting, (even if no apology) and warning, the world including China could have taken quick action, thousands of lives saved, billions of dollars.
