Hey, I live in Dougherty County, GA!

Yes, I was wondering why there are so many confirmed there. Lots more than I would expect given the low population density. (One of the few Hillary counties in GA, too.)

Freedom, Do Co is the city of Albany. Literally 90% of the county population is on welfare, so you can see why they would vote for Hillary. Anyway, supposedly there was a couple of large African American funerals of several hundred people (it’s a part of the culture). One of the guests was from Atlanta, who had active disease. The story is he went around hugging and kissing everybody. It’s a crazy thing. 90% of our deaths are African American. Very sad. Our bedroom communities surrounding our city have a very different makeup.

I knew it was Albany, but none of the rest. Thanks for the great explanation. (I haven't been to Albany since a frustrating bowling tournament in the '70's.) What happened to the economy there?

Actually, Albany has done very well after Obama is gone. I don’t know how to explain it, but the demographics of the actual city are not at all what ALbany is. We have more people in an adjoining county than in Albany. Decent middle class, working people have moved out of the city proper to the adjoining county. We have been doing well, until this mess. My practice is closed because I can’t get patients to come in. They are too afraid. I am in the process of applying for a PPP loan to help me over the hump. It’s a crazy world. I have never asked for assistance of any kind in my life.

Where does someone with a toothache go?

Good question. My husband and son are root canal specialists, and so far they have been able to stay open 1/2 day, but I would say 99% of dentists are closed. The government asked that dentists stay open to handle emergencies only, specifically banning any routine care, but I can’t possibly stay open and pay employees just to treat the occasional emergency. So, essentially the person with a toothache has to go to walk in clinics or emergency room. Which is the worst place to be right now.

Unfortunately the medical profession is either not gathering data or not releasing data that would enable us to make rational decisions about our own risks.
When that happens under "normal" conditions, it's because there is a hidden agenda. In recent years it has been happening with much greater frequency.

Approximately 60,000 worldwide deaths from COVID19 outbreak. Globally, the World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that the flu kills 290,000 to 650,000 people per year. 70,000 US deaths annually from drug overdoses.

World mortality. Of the roughly 150,000 people who die each day across the globe, about two thirds—100,000 per day—die of age-related causes. In industrialized nations, the proportion is much higher, reaching 90%.
