Trump scrubs 70 Obama holdovers from NSC

"President Trump is making good on his promises to “drain the swamp” and cut Obama-era holdovers from his staffs, especially the critical and recently controversial National Security Council.

Officials confirmed that Trump and national security adviser Robert O’Brien have cut 70 positions inherited from former President Barack Obama, who had fattened the staff to 200.

Many were loaners from other agencies and have been sent back. Others left government work.

The NSC, which is the president’s personal staff, was rocked when a “whistleblower” leveled charges that led to Trump’s impeachment."

I am just wondering, What took him so long? I mean seriously when he took office he knew that they were essentially EVERYWHERE.

It's difficult for one man to know everything. Unless he had someone advising him as to the purpose of the NSC and its bloat, its unlikely he even understood how bad things were until the impeachment stuff started up.

I anticipate that if he gets re-elected, he'll continue decreasing the size of the Executive Branch, but it will depend on people who have his ear telling him where they need to make the next sets of cuts.

What better way to expose lyin' leakers than to have them close to you, and to help draw out more of the sneaky swamp creatures. Trump's next term many more will be gone and so will many offices that are supposed to be doing this and that. Why are we keeping the "Do Not Call" program and all the people that run it, it hasn't worked since it's inception, and there are countless others that also don't work. All the friends and relatives of Congress and the Senate will just have to go out and get real jobs.

Imagine if he did real massive firings, those people would have turned on him and lied like Bolton did and teamed up with Mueller and Schiff to get rid of Trump

I have the desktop day by day calendar from the Atlas Society. A day in late January had this quote:

The Government Was Set To Protect Man From Criminals And The Constitution Was Written To Protect Man From Government. Ayn Rand

A lot Late but still good. In the beginning DJT could never have cleaned house with all the resistance from the RINOs within. Slowly some of those RINOs but not all are beginning to see the error of their ways. There are still plenty such as Romney who will pat him on the back in search of the soft spot to stab their dagger. Trump 45.2 will be a very interesting time in our history but there will always be traitors with their own agendas.

I have to say that in my life the people who have screwed me over have all been mormons (for some reason). Must be something in their religion that makes them stick together to the detriment of non believers.

Presumably, Trump and team learned all they could through observation of these 70 holdovers...to us, "Now" seems to be long past due.
But non of us can play this game, "draining the swamp"...so who are we to quibble.

I would have hoped, however, that Non, remained in government but as stated about, who am "I" to quibble.

200 people seem to be an awfully large number of advisors on a council advising the President, more like a mob; that's 200 opinions on the same subject, no wonder security has been lax. More cuts are needed and holdovers should be dismissed, the President needs people around him who are focused in the same vision, not always agreeing on process but concomitant in substance. This is true of all departments and agencies under the direct authority of the President, previous appointees should be removed and replaced with those sharing the common interest of the Commander in Chief.

Every president should immediately fire everyone possible on day one. It always comes back to bit them.

Trumps problem was that basically the only bureaucrats in the government were of "deep state" mentality, and didnt share Trump's campaign promises. He should have just left a lot of positions open, since the government is bloated anyway
