Gotta love it. I just wish they would have used MMXX for the year - it just looks much cleaner.

No doubting now that Star Trek is real. Beam me up, Scotty!

No, they did do that in that movie, but the Enterprise they sucked nuclear radiation from was not named after ST, as it was named before ST was even filming.

I was referring to the Movie when they went back in time to get the Whales. They came back into the 1980s, but I have not seen the movie in 25 years?

That would require some time travel itself, given she was active around 6-7 years before before ST came out. ;) There is a long tradition of naval ships named Enterprise, dating back to the 1700s even. But the second, and last to date, enterprise was the first nuclear "supercarrier" with twin reactors - a first. She had her maiden voyage in '60 or '61 IIRC.

    Love it...
I also loved how ST5 went back to a Sea Vessel Named Enterprise... Which was a LOOP since it was named, to some degree, after Star Trek, from what I understand...

DrZarkov99 has it correct Star Trek came after the Space Command had the insignia first!

Actually, the original Space Command logo was developed several years before the new generation Star Trek series began, by its first commander General Hartinger, so technically the Starfleet logo was "borrowed" from Space Command first.

Yeah, he'd get to add another set of initials to his credential list: ZC (for Zefram Cochrane). ;) I wonder if the first race he'd meet would be the Vulcans, or it if would be the Romulans and they'd just blow him out of the sky...

I don't think I would enjoy being commandant of Starfleet Academy. I enjoy what I do, and so I do it.

You need the patent on warp drive or gravity control/artificial gravity, JB. They'd make you the commandant of the Academy.

I have yet to convince my university's president that we should start a Space Force ROTC to complement three of Florida Tech's best programs: our aerospace engineering program, our physics and space sciences, and our Army ROTC program. I would eventually like to make it into Starfleet Academy, but I'm not good enough at the political game to get that kind of influence.
