I would say because the issue is not actually about the spread of any kind of right to have same gender sex. The real issue is the spead of progressive thought and a dependency on government to give those rights. The real intention is to force people to look more toward government for rights to be issued. So nobody really cares when bad things happen in other countries. Just like feminists don't care a bit about the deplorable conditions of women in the Middle East. The goal is not global eqaulity, it's about government dependence and nothing more.
